This

I can’t see a world where he didn’t know exactly what he was doing. If he didn’t, he shouldn’t be allowed on a football field. Either way, no excuse.
He did it on purpose and maliciously.

You can only admire Penrith here, and there ability to dictate to the NRL what they want.

Yep.

Pretty simple, make it a penalty. If the referee or bunker is of the opinion that a trainer has involved themselves in the game, they can blow a penalty. broad enough to cover tonights nonsense or the Rorters trainer being on field to disrupt charge downs in the 3rd minute of a GF.

Refs could warn trainers hanging around in the defensive line and if they dont f**k off, blow it up.
Why warn them? If the rule gets changed and flouted then BLOW THE WHISTLE.

Referees aren't there to coach, they're there to officiate.

Coached will VERY QUICKLY get the message, which will very rapidly and forcefully make its way to the trainers.

We were robbed of one of the greatest comebacks in Australian rugby league history thanks to incompetent officials, a Penrith trainer and Campbell's boot.

I'm enjoying the tears almost as much as the 2 point field goal.

You would think this is the first time this has ever happened and we were at the cutting edge of shitmerkinary.

IMO the bigger controversy (and with a bigger impact) was the piss weak call on the To'o high shot on Sami. There's a very strong argument for a penalty try. To'o got him high and hard, and it's easy to see Sami was groggy and not in full control as he went over the try line and his foot dangled out. One could easily believe that if not for the high shot, Sami would have kept his boot in the field of play and scored.

Yeah I agree with everyone on here, we should take points off Penrith because of the trainer disrupting an attempted goal kick. While we're at it, we should also ask the ground announcer to ask for quiet please like in the tennis so these precious footballers can take their shot at goal.

Yeah leave 'em alone! It's not like they have form for shithousery from their trainers or anything.

Man of the Match: Penrith trainer. Des will spontaneously combust in the presser even though he’s on his last warning.
Des kept his powder dry in the presser mentioning that he was on his last warning for criticising referees. Despite being given plenty of leading questions from reporters. Said that he would go through the correct channels and that the reply would probably be put on nrl.com . A tinge of sarcasm perhaps.

At the end of the day though , the main reason the Titans lost was that they stopped playing football when they got to the lead. Campbell , who was fantastic up till then, was the main offender with his decision making. A shame really as that was a career best game from him.

Cant argue with that one. To'o isn't a grub, but it was high, and was the definition of a penalty try. They scored a few plays later and converted, so it didn't have any bearing on the result fortunately.

Whether they scored shortly after or not is not the issue. As you said, To'o is not a grubby player which i totally agree, but should have been a penalty try. The question is why it wasn't awarded with the bunker saying "we have cleared it up to this point". There was a discussion the past week on LU about lower ranked teams copping dodgy decisions and that is another example.

I disagree - it absolutely had a bearing on the result. As you say - the Tits scored again soon after. Do you contend that if awarded the penalty try they wouldn't have scored again?
