If Russia had military might to end the war it would have ended years ago. Ukraine fights on and keeps holding them off, and has the rest of Europe as allies now.

Trump was a fool to claim he would end the Russia-Ukraine war within one day of coming to power. Trump can't make deals any more than you or I, and is just a pretender on the world stage, like a rich version of Scomo.

Trump met Putin in Alaska not Europe ? Why you ask ? Because like Netanyahoo, he has an international warrant out for his arrest for war crimes.

Regardless of the merits of the invasion, no one should be under the delusion that Russia couldn’t wipe the Ukraine off the face of the earth if it wanted to.

With conventional weapons too I might add.

It’s shown considerable restraint if anything.

The concern about the peace talks failing is the prospect of Putins patience running out.

However, I do feel guilty at times that slave labour in Bangladesh and China are producing the products I can buy for a pittance.
I therefore shop elsewhere generally.
Seriously, how can it be possible to buy the raw materials, manufacture, transport overseas and then ultimately, we can buy a reasonably decent toasted sandwich maker or kettle at K-Mart for $A17?
It just doesn't sit right with me.

I assume a Chinese factory worker who works for ANKO is paid very similar to one who works for Breville which is an Aus company that manufacturers in China.
Plus China has rising unemployment. And you know what they do? They just make the shit and dump what doesn't sell anyhows. Your helping the planet by buying it.

When I worked in retail, the mark up on fashion was obscene, climbing into the 300% mark.

People would pay more for a brand name regardless of whether or not the build quality was any good.

Aussie brands fared pretty well on the quality front.

Like anything else, it’s how you treated them.

Now it’s pretty trendy to wear old clothes.

I knew an importer of women’s swimwear, very untrustworthy.

I was thinking of one of those indoor fly things as well for the mall.

And for gambling addicts a no-cost pokie centre. $5 to get in and the machines don’t pay. But you can enjoy the lights etc.

Why? Because apparently the owner likes Australians.
