I’m watching replay right now and for those questioning Lomax, watch the lead up to Samrani’s first. It goes good hit up by Lomax with quick PTB, TDS takes a scoot and having just played the ball Lomax sprints to back him up, he then sprints back to get in position in time for Moses bomb which Lomax sprints to chase. There’s some head scratchers in his game but everything he does is wholehearted and there have been far too many peahearts to pull on the jersey to shit on someone who puts in as hard.

It’s also sandwiched by the 10-20 minutes of nonstop movement by Guymer.

Amazing that a team can score 30 points and not have made a line break all game.

Roosters were putrid in attack (apart from Marky Mark brilliance), I put that down to a combination of our pressure in defence, the loss of their halfback and their horrible ball handling.

Roosters defence though was actually excellent, for the most part. We had no line breaks and only 19 tackles that game breaks (to their 2 LBs and 31 TBs).
All our tries came from either scrappy plays off kicks or an intercept (how good was that by the way).

Loved our resilience in defence. They really stood up at times and held the Roosters out. Was two brilliant plays by Marky Mark that got them over the line.

I will say though, something is properly wrong with the goalkicking this year. Lomax has the yips terribly and can’t hit one from the sideline to save his life anymore. Then Moses gets one from the side but misses the easier one infield. I don’t know how to fix it tbh. Do they do any kicking practice at all? So many chances to either stay in games or put them away earlier this year and instead it’s made harder for ourselves.

Just want to give a big wrap to the forwards, especially Jack Williams who was outstanding. Every forward last night played well in attack and defence, really strong and committed. I wasnt sure before the game if they could contain the Roosters pack, but gee Ryles has given these players that real strong power. I dont know how many times we belted their pack and forced the mistake. I love seeing that.

That's one of the best victories for a while and its not often things go our well against the Roosters. When the Fox scored that intercept and the Roosters try was disallowed on half time, I thought we could win this.

Great week to be an Eels fan.

Only got to watch the game this morning, without knowing the result. Thought we blew a lot of chances early, and should have been up by 20 at least. What pleased me was how sharp we looked with the ball. Rare to see our attack look so potent.

I know they lost Walker, but our forwards did not take a backward step again the much vaunted Roosters pack. A very complete performance, the best of the season. This is how Ryles wants us to play.

Everyone played their role.
