I like Smith, however he doesn't seem suited to the opening stanza as a prop.

He's a finesse rather than power runner and does his best work when he can use his feet on tiring defenders.

Lindsay Smith was very good today both in attack and defence. Liam Henry did everything required when he came on.

I felt Liam Henry started poorly but got better as he got 'warmed up'. Seems to always give away 1 dumb penalty within the first 3 minutes he gets on the field. He needs to cut that shit out.

It was just Panthers footy at not quite it's finest.

We got into the grind, played the field position game and outlasted yet another team in the finals.

A solid team effort with quite a few players with minimal finals experience, but the senior guys showed their class in the end.

Special shout out to Ipap, his move to the middle has been the difference more than once recently.

And how can I forget the much maligned Brad Schneider. His best game as a Panther and that's all that Ivan could have asked for.

Paps was my MOTM i thought he was incredible, what a great player, he can play every position in the pack well besides hooker, and tbh if kenny is still out id throw him in at 9 and he would find a way to get it done, quietly goes about his work really great signing.

Agree that Garner needs more minutes i dont mind him taking some from Martin but tbh i think we should just reverse Sorro and Garners mins, Sorry had 61 and Garner 19, thats really hard to understand for me. Id swap it, let sorro start and go hard for 20 mins the bring Garner in next to Talagi who has slick hands. Atleast Garner will be fresh for the doggies, im sure Ivan will be looking to throw something different at Ciraldo.

I love Sorro hes had some good games this year, but hes had a lot like last night also. He'd would be the one to drop out next year for Patea imo. Patea,Henry, Paps and whoever is 14 is my bench.

He is a workhorse who can get 60mins from.

On a scale of 1 to Brad Schneider, how did you rate our performance?

It is what you expect in finals from us, high completion rate, dominate possession and grind out the win.

Too many penalties but that is probably on the referee more then the team. Once we worked out what the standard was we improved in that area

He is just an average solid worker who defends well. Wouldn't cost a bomb. Sides need them. Does it make much difference if come in from Bench? I mean if you have all the possession the first 20mins id rather Leota on but if where defending then probably Henry. And it's impossible to tell when you are going to have all the ball.

I have been on the record as wanting him and Leota to switch during the season, finals Moses is a different beast. So that then brings who is better off the bench Henry or Patea

Depends on the score if you where up by 8 with 10 to go I'd rather Henry. If down by 8 the Patea. But he is young and raw and his injury cost him a chance I feel as he just started to look good.

I like Moses starting mostly because of his 2nd stint.

We won a semi with Garner who was probably our most consistent forward playing 16 mins. Henry got 25.

You could give Sorro that alone as a direct swap.

This is true. But what if a forward was injured very early on. Would you trust Patea to pump out 35mins?
He has a high ceiling but that game against the Dogs a few weeks back showed me a guy who isn't fit enough quite yet for much more then a 15min stint before his defense become an issue.
