Left field but as the cupboard is bare I'd be interested to see how Mulitalo went at the back with a full off season training. Not like the bar is very high with who'd he'd be replacing.

Do it.

You have Stonestreet straight on to the wing who is pretty good. We don't have cap space and this move is cap neutral

We were never winning next week. This loss has avoided a greater heartbreak.

Thank god.

Look, maybe if we had the week off it might have been different. Or maybe Melbourne hit us with the momentum.

We went pretty close in the end. We were in the competition. It's not like we were lapped. That counts for something. If we were wearing purple I'm sure Klein could have found a way

There's usually a bit of shenanigans over summer with contracted players moving around or swapping. Hopefully we can get involved with that.

1. Kennedy - peaked. Solid but not a winner. Should be concerned
2. Katoa - solid and reliable
3. Ramien - more sideways than forward this season. Under pressure
4. Iro - defensively great. Safe
5. Ron - safe
6. Trindall - needs to be the 7 and string games together. Otherwise I’d be seriously looking at pollard. 50/50
7. Hynes - needs to be the 6. Drop a kilo or 3, and get some speed back. Safe
8. AFB - first stint as good as second. Safe
9. Brailey - he was mud tonight. But safe since he has signed until 2035
10. Toby - worst game of the year. He needs a big off season. Not in my top 17
11. Billy - worst game of the past couple of months. Squad player at that level, despite all the good things. Found out
12. Tieg - defensively awful. He will be there again safe
13. JC - got through his work. But found out with a fast moving defence. Should have the opportunity to know he is the starting 13
14. Sifa - needs to have a role. 30 mins a game doesn’t cut it, although I can see home being elsewhere 2027
15. BHU - ordinary and has been for years
16. OK - starts or shouldn’t play.
17. Nikora - back to the starting 11 jersey.

Squad guys
Tom - is safe but needs to get fit
Hohepa - didn’t see enough but good guy to have in the 21
Berrell - is a cheap squad filler and will be there until there is a better option as back up
Niwhai - I haven’t seen him play enough to make a call, but is he the next best 7 in the club?
Stonestreet - great depth, but gets eaten alive tonight
Hiroti - will keep his spot like Vettel until someone else puts pressure on
Gabreal - needs a big off season
ISON - if he can show strength in that knee then I can’t see him not starting at the 1

Never expected to see a comparison between Mawene Hiroti and Sebastian Vettel in my life!

Back row bk tw jc bench bb , sifa
Reserve puru Toby

Halves , nh bt , get some game time into ford , I don't think pollard has it.

Wingers Ron, katoa
Centres Gabriel iro , start blooding Williams, even if on the wing
Fullback ison , if no good , Ron to FB, Williams wing or centre, Gabriel wing , although I'd love to see him developed into a FB

I’m really not sure why anyone thinks there will be changes. You know that team engagement and closeness they talk about. Starts with Fitz, he won’t f**k it up and get rid of everyone. Expect Preston with everyone who is there now except Atkinson.

Do it early and give it time. The coach has change the loyalty program. Times up.

As I’ve said in another thread, I’d actually prefer to keep Kennedy as our 1 and trade in 1 of our halves for a gun….. sadly it ain’t gonna happen - and there’s no gun fullbacks on the market either, so I think we’re stuck with our spine.

1 of the big problems we have is that we only have 2 players who seem to have the ability to create something out of nothing, using purely their athleticism, and the big issue is, those 2 players are AFB and Sifa, our 2 best middles - but they’re middles, so they can make a break/create space, but they’re not quick enough to get away. To win comps, you need your most dangerous players to be your spine players.

We desperately need someone with blistering speed off the mark. Someone who’s hard to tackle. But I don’t think there’s anyone out there.

Maybe that player is Gabreal he has gone well at Jets speed to burn, he would be complete different option to Ramien.
I think Colquhoun can go to next level.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Nikora the coin he is on hard to be a bench is.
Ison if fit fullback otherwise I agree with others give Ronnie a try.
The Rudolf off to Dogs rumour will be interesting to see if this happens as well

Nicho copping it big time last night on here.
No secret I've been one of if not his biggest critic.
I have no complaints about last night. We made the last 4 and have to accept that. We are not the in the best 2 teams in the comp - we could've made the GF last night but no way would I have tipped us to win it.

My only criticism of Nicho is he is not a halfback and he never will be.

Its that simple.

His storm mates last night did not fear anything he can do in that role. They played with him as a 1 or 14 and know that is all he brings.

His defence has become very very good. Hats off, but I've said we will never win the comp with him in the halves. Not saying he isnt a first grader - he is - but pre-lims and GF's are a whole different ball game.
Bellamy knew he needed Hughes last night. Broken arm and all.

Wishart. Pezet. Bellamy was worried.
Hughes. Bellamy knew he needed him.

Cleary snr needs cleary jnr.

We need something else. And moving him to 6 is not the answer. Because he will think hes the 7.

Nicho could easily get another 20-30% out of himself every game if he'd just cut his hair. Spends half the game being distracted by it.
