Kamikamika bombing that try turns out to be the game changer. Melbourne score that they probably coast. In reality Brisbane go down the other end and score and dominate the rest of the game. Apart from Paps no Storm player even sneezed in the direction of a try after that.
Undoubtedly changed the game.
Brisbane's name has been on the trophy throughout this finals .
Better to be a lucky coach than a good one.

Well, Madge Maguire had done it,
The Brisbane Broncos had won it,
With Payne Haas clucking all the while,
Reece Walsh's toilet antics made us smile,
While Alfie lay unconscious on the bar-room tile.

We're talkin' football,
From Queensland to Victoria,
Talkin' football,
Ben Hunt and Piakura,

Blake Mozer's grotesquely swollen jaw,

Ezra Mam and his run-in with the law,

We're talkin' Reyno,
Carrigan and Te Kura.

Smoothy! Shave those sideburns!

Crazy game. Broncos attack is just too good when it's on and Reece Walsh is the best player in the game by miles, even considering his various flaws.

Just goes to show what you can do when you have a well-resourced club with an elite coach and a superstar roster.

I literally have no idea how you can watch a GF after the siren unless your team won the comp. It's way too painful seeing any other club celebrate.

Every year I turn the TV off the second full time is blown.
I’m exactly the same.

Good win for Brisbane.

Not the most convincing season from them but no one had a great season in 2025. Their season should have ended on numerous occasions but they kept hanging around. Way too much talent to be outside the 8 and top 4.

They won 3 clutch games when it mattered and have a premiership. A very long time overdue but deserved considering the way they achieved it.

Hunt/Reynolds should retire today. Or for Hunt at least give up rep footy.

I have new found respect for Madge, I think he's a genius actually. He got Walsh in peak form at the right time of the year and just made sure no one got in his way. Made sure the rest of the team were fit enough to defend their line for 80 min and sustained the hunger to win. I think sometimes great coaching is just doing enough to get the win on the day, not always being the most consistent or dominant team over 24 rounds.

Thats right. You've only got to get it done at the end. Its what got Penrith their 23 and 24 premierships.

50s aren't impressive anymore. And being the best team across the season matters little. A minor premiership should mean far more but unfortunately it doesn't.

That might change when the competition length reduces. And if they ever do anything about the Origin period.

Walsh attack was as expected vs a suspect centre pairing. The biggest part of his game was defence. 3 try savers in the second half 2 resulting in turnovers. Might be getting carried away but it is one of the all time great individual performances in a GF

Comparing it to another sport, they’re a lot like Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. One superstar who can win them games surrounded by players whose job is to work their backsides off to make the game easier for the star.
