Canterbury Bulldogs forward rejects move to another club - NRL News - Zero Tackle https://share.google/pWP2lAfh3CIDeiXKT
They tried to move him to the London Broncos the sneaky merkins! At what point do players start to lose trust in the management and it becomes a problem for them. You don’t want a playing roster who are constantly worried about Gus hiding under their bed ready to knife them.

I can tell you Hannay is very highly rated as a coach. That’s come from someone I know within the Qld origin camp. All of that said, I’m very glad we got Rylesy.
I’m a little impatient by nature and Ryles initially had me worried but now besides maybe Bellamy I wouldn’t swap him for any coach in the NRL. That’s how much I’m confident in his ability.

I can see us extending him if we make the 8 next season. There has been a precedent set anyway with the last coach who got one after claiming the spoon.

Understandable… I absolutely loved the fact he chopped some big names right from the start. It showed he had the backing of the board and he was willing to invest towards the future from the get go.

Id certainly like to see both Ryles and Iongi extended sooner rather than later.

That spoon was caused by the fallout of the salary cap scandal. We weren’t allowed to recruit until we cleared the decks and by time we did it was too late for 2018 recruitment (which started in November 2016). That’s why our recruitment was so good for 2019. Nearly a dozen of the 2018 side never played NRL again.

I agree with you but Ryles in a similar situation didn’t come last. He is already a more superior coach and would be in higher demand than that parasite you keep protecting.

He’s not in a similar situation. We won seven games last year. That’s the equivalent of the 2018 squad. Ryles is in a similar position to 2019 except he sacked the 2025 counterparts of Takairangi, Mannah, Ma’u, etc.

there is no way on Gods earth that Hannay would of made the 'Big Dick' moves that Ryles did, that god we made the right decision on that one...

Hannay looks like a YES man. And a bit of a pussy. He may turn out a great coach.
Ryles has a sense of a strong leadership presence about him where you have to earn his respect. This - I'm the boss and a bit of a father figure vibe. He may turn out a bust. But I really like his energy and I think 27/28 the premiership drought ends.

2017 top 4 = 2018 squad good enough for top 4. Come last

2025 = played s 3mill under cap for bulk of season. Missing top 3 player in game. Hadnt shaped squad with energy he wanted from players.

BA also took over with some exciting talent coming. Having peak Hayne and cap space. It isnt even in the same ball park to the shit show Ryles has. Even 2026 with Matterson and other chip ins for LANE etc we are probably 1 mill behind other sides

But as the months passed without a bite for Norman, the Eels told Moses he was also free to explore his options elsewhere such was the club's desire to split the pair.

"It's hard to explain how I felt when I was told," Moses said.

"I'm not going to lie it was upsetting to hear that straight away after the season.
