After a century of dominance, they'll even turn on the All blacks.
Well that's just not true, we'll shitfight over them, especially the coaches and selections, but we still support them no matter what. Well, except maybe some Cantabs, but they're a different breed ...

Really hope England beat the Roos and if it happens you won’t see people complaining it was cause haas etc didn’t pick the Roos
Aren't you Australian? This is just weird. Also, to repeat, yet again 🙄, I'm not complaining about any specific PI player, in fact the only Samoan player I'd have wanted would have been Haas and he's not eligible for NZ.

I hope the kangaroos get gutted more In the future and just the white guys and aboriginals are their only players whilst all the islanders stay solid away from them
Well, you might have some Maori players too since you've excluded them from Origin and NZ as they're not your favourite Polynesians.

I haven’t cheered for the Roos since the early 90s

Anybody that beats them it’s a good thing for rugby league

Pacific cup without them is excellent

Tbh if the kangaroos didn’t exist international league would be even better lol

Then again I couldn’t care if the wallabies or soceroos or Mathilda’s won their world cups either those sports aren’t relevant to me

Sheesh, pot calling the kettle black. Although your multi's creations did provide the thread with entertainment value.
I always forget about that but I'm glad it was a big development in your life. You bring it up like it was the moon landing or something lol
You need to get out more mate.

Comedy gold, the guy who made up multiple fake people to keep himself entertained is lecturing me on getting out more.

Ugh, I didn't say it was your definition. 😉

Well it matters where they are produced in the context of this thread alone. I personally don't care where they get developed once they're serving the Kiwis, but I'd like the Warriors to actually develop some, instead we have Aussie halves on our books.

I'd also contest we have produced better halves than England. Look at that list of outside backs and forwards we've had to play in the halves. We have a few really good ones in the NRL era, but only a few, which doesn't allow for depth at all.
Yep, England probably has better depth as they have 10 full time clubs. Outright talent though I'd take the Kiwi list.

If George Williams and Mikey Lewis go down for England you've got a handful of others ready to step in who are of fair quality also.

Just on NZ depth, Johnson and Foran have both essentially stretched out the retirement party the last two seasons to step in for an injured Hughes. From next year onwards, how do you see the pecking order?

Hughes & Brown, Then? Nikorima maybe from Superleague, who would you put in at 7 if you were Stacey?

Has the ARLC actually spent any money in Tonga and Samoa?

Giving Jerome Luai some cash to play in blue isn't the same thing as developing the game.

Nail on the head.

Do these teams actually represent the Tongan and Samoan national rugby league bodies, or are they NRL/SL selections?

I would assume a percentage of the tv money gets filtered out in grants etc?
Isn't $150m of the PNG package for Fiji, Samoa and Tonga?

@Matua if you ever wanna wind up Aussie league fans when they put crap on the warriors or nz rl just tell them many of the founders/people of influence in the nswrl were kiwis

And that without the kiwis rugby league wouldn’t exist in Australia or the rules of the game changed in England to make it league and not union

I pointed this out to an Aussie league historian once who totally downplayed the kiwi influence and I got that info from his book
