I don't see the problem. Hes available for a year so why not.

Moses will inevitably go down injured at some point, and probably get picked for origin, so we got a very good backup in pezet.

If it's the case of missing out on finals due to a couple of losses with Moses out, then I think it's a great idea.

In Ryles I trust
I overall agree but surely you see the potential problem. On the face of it it is like that cuck deal the Tigers did with that hooker from Qld/Melbourne for a year. Admittedly that hooker turned out crap...but still.
"Cuck" is the exactly right term and I pat myself on the back for thinking of it.
But, yes, I am, on balance, saying, "let's just do it". In Ryles we trust.

I get going for Metcalfe or Isaiha Katoa for 2027, but Pezet isn't really proven. Handful of games in a storm outfit.

Seems very likely that Pezet is just a stop gap for next year until Talataina is given the role in 2027. I don’t like the optics of this deal at all though. It just shows that we’re willing to be a players backup plan until they move onto their preferred destination. It’s rather humiliating.

IF this is true then Pezet and Anasta are giving us a giant middle finger. Use us as a stepping stone to get to where he actually wants to play. If true we should withdraw the offer and let him waste another year in reggies at Melbourne.
Just disrespectful AF. At least Joash wants to be here and is proud to wear the jersey.

Why waste cap space for a rental to appease Anasta and benefit the Donkeys, lets hope the clubs recruitment team just dismiss it completely. If they don’t, then another question on their acumen.

This is my thoughts. On it as well..

Also 2 things will happen.
1. Pezet kills it at the club next season and we all lose our shit as his replacement is not as good.
2. He is crap and we lose it as we wasted a year on him.

SMH are reporting it’s done.

It seems Parra are using the narrative it’s a stop gap until the internal options are ready.

“Parramatta boast promising young halves in the shape of Lincoln Fletcher, Joshua Lynn, Lorenzo Talataina, Talen Risati and Te Hurinui Twidle, but they are considered at least 12 months away from being ready for the NRL.”

There are one 2 ways this situation becomes positive:

1. we win the comp in 26 (0.01% chance of happening)

2. We announce on Nov 1 we’ve signed Metcalf or Purdue for 27 and this is a fill in that suits US for 12 months.

Even if it is number 2, why waste the 12 months and whatever dollars on Pezet? Give Iongi or likewise a bump for 2026 in the hope that encourages them to stick with club.

It’d be an odd move for us and Pezet. We don’t really gain anyway value and Pezet will be in firing line all season.

The only possible reason for me doing it, and it’s not a good one because it only plays on hope and dreams, is the aim is to use 2026 to convince Pezet to pull out of Broncos deal and stick with us
