People are hardly hyping him up like Andrew Johns. He’s the understudy to one of the best half’s in the NRL and has played plenty in Cup. The game he came in for he absolutely shot the lights out.

He is clearly a great prospect.

The irony of people bagging the kid already when ignoring the similarities to Ionghi’s background.

People are talking him up like he is the next A.Johns. If he makes us a better side then im all for it but i wouldnt be suprised if he isn't half as good as people hyping him up.

He isn’t as good as being hyped up . Everyone acting like he is a great starter , he is a rookie .

Yes but as someone mentioned, perhaps a stint in Japanese Rugby, avoid the 10 year suspension then come back to the NRL. May or may not happen.

i know he is good when he is on. But I have never rated him in the league of a Teddy/Edwards etc.

Plus he spends a lot of time injured.

I didn’t realise the Jap Union thing being a loophole so he hasn’t technically left NRL to go to R360. Is that a loophole? Clever if so.

this could go one of two ways

either he kills it, looks amazing and we go to have a really good year, making the GF and possibly even winning it. which leaves us with Pezet as a club legend forever in the minds and hearts of Eels fans everywhere.

or

he has an average year in which we are grateful that we didn't sign him for longer and block the path of Lorenzo. Of course as long as he is committed to giving 100% in every game and doing the 1-2%ers that are expected of every NRL player, we wont really have much to be disappointed with, afterall, results are normally decided by the whole team, not just 1 player.

the outcome I'm hoping for is that Lorenzo is a complete stud that learns a lot behind Jonah even while playing NSW cup all year.

It's very exciting.
