You keep saying that but
Ivan Cleary spent 6 seasons at the Warriors.
He made the finals 4/6 years. INCLUDING a grand final and 2 prelims. It would of been 5 if they were not deducted 4 points.
Find me a stat that shows a more succesful period in the Warriors history....

He also had the Tigers finish 9th. Thats pretty good for the Tigers.
He couldn't coach before 2020, and just got lucky with Gus's team. Can't help good luck.

How many comps did Penrith win when Gus was there again? Not counting 91 when he was actually the Coach.

Matt Cameron is the man behind the success, Gus just had all the connections to set up the pathways system.

Ivan will go down as one of the great Coaches, to do what he has done in a salary cap era is unbelievable.

Yet the journos will keep lauding Bennett and Bellamy who are both has beens and chokers respectively.

They were hardly a small club. They made the finals three times in the five years before it, including two prelims, a grand final and a minor premiership. The Warriors aren't just a one team town; they're a one team country. Their junior rep teams are f**king awesome.

Fair point.

Sure I agree. They are not a small club. But that's not what I asked was it. I asked to find me a period that was better in their history. If unable to then you must put him down as their most successful coach ever

PERIOD

Gus is the man who brought Cameron and Cleary and most importantly all of the CASH to the club.

You'd have to look at their win rate. Cleary won 50% at the Warriors; more than Kearney (42%) but less than Anderson (55%).

This is what peak performance looks like and some merkins don't like that.

I’m pretty sure when Tago re-signed in August 24 it was for 1 year Dev and then promoted to top 30 for 26. Not sure if that was before Ryles came in but either way it’s horrendous recruitment and we are desperately short of a winger and centre going into 26. We were in this exact same position in 2024 and went into the year with spots missing in our top 30 and it seems our recruitment team have learnt nothing.

our cap for 2027 looks great but I’d hate to write off another year of Moses in his prime, not to mention the fact we haven’t actually signed anyone for 27 yet either

it's just a clear indicator that there's f**k all out there to choose from, particularly when there's still 60 + T30 spots available in the comp right now.

I don't think Cleary is a great coach. He was average/okay/good prior to getting to Penrith and it is a great system of juniors there that he has done well with.
Bellamy is a great coach. He has done very well with totally different generations of players and also been innovative (in a negative way for the interests of the game unfortunately). Bennett is a great coach, but I am really only saying that because he managed to win at the Dragons. Slingblade, Gump or Langmack could have coached the Broncos and won in the 90s.

Arthur was in that pool of average coaches, his big issue is like the most of rest of them he is a terrible communicator, at least to the fans. If you are going to be a terrible communicator you better get results quick. Ryles is 100% a better communicator to the fans (via the media) than most/many of the other coaches - thus far.
I think Ando was a good coach - I've got him a level above average because of the innovation (mid-season) in 09. He communicated to the fans through that innovation.

I do agree with you I just with our recruitment team had better foresight or wish we had some decent outside backs ready to be promoted from out pathways.

Perth are absolutely up the creek without a paddle

Ryles appointed in July. Tago signed in August. Ryles would have been across it. Terrible signing
