Will also say Stonestreet has been really good. Need to resign him and let Katoa go.
I think he is really starting to find his groove and he has definitely been way better under the highball and kick returns which was his weakness.

Next season we need replacements for Ramien and Kennedy. We need to find more pace for those positions.

I’ve given Stonestreet plenty of grief over the last 18 months, but he’s been quite good these last 2 weeks.

With regards your last point, I couldn’t agree more on Ramien, but I couldn’t disagree more with your view on Kennedy. Kennedy was our best back and our best forward by a mile today. Kennedy is not the issue with our team or our spine.

I always try and stay away from bashing Nicho, but he is offering zilch at the moment. Someone mentioned Jack Cogger/Jock Madden….. that’s about what we’re getting from Nicho, for $1m+.

I’d certainly be giving Perth a nudge and wink about how great it would be to have a poster boy 7 as the face of their new franchise. It’s easier to find a replacement for Nicho than it is Kennedy.

Not giving them an excuse, but they looked really buggered watching them close walking up the tunnel at half time. I wonder whether there was a virus going through the club last week. Similarly looking scenes of complacency / total lack of urgency early in the 2nd half.

That said they failed to deal with Farnsworth again, Farnsworth was exploiting their lack of urgency / fatigue with ease.

With the plan on conditioning the players to be able to maintain that energy longer with our attack to follow.

Kennedy was pretty solid but he does have a negative effect on our halfs.
If I’m defending against us it’s pretty easy to rush the halfs and outside edges knowing there is little chance of our fullback keeping defence in 2 minds

But equally, it’s easy to defend the fullback when neither of the halves offer a direct north to south running threat, or have any sort of trick shot (other than tricky grubbering for himself) in their pocket.

Brailey is back to just shovelling the ball out too - no craft at all. Basically, as we all saw, we are super predictable at all times. It literally was a 1 out runner all game.

But there has been SFA in the way of succession planning.
Just "if we can get an extra 10% out of him that's all we need".

This squad is entirely the squad Fotzy's built over 5 years, playing the style of football he's coached.
He's dug his own grave.

What the actual f*ck do they do all week at training?

I’ve said it time and time again, every team I’ve ever played in, all the halfbacks and hookers ever want to do at training is think up and practice trick shots. We have nothing.

Who is responsible for our game day tactics? Who watch video of any NRL team and thought, ‘the way to win this game is 5 1 out hit ups, no dummy runners, no shape, no support runners, no offloading, just a 1 out Lone Ranger for 5 tackles in a row, that’ll get us the win.

Remember how many players in motion we had in the early days of Fitz? Most in the league, it was beautiful to watch. These days, and it has been this way for a long time, it is so two dimensional, boring and stale, that I’ve stopped expecting anything dynamic to happen, ever. Pretty sad state of affairs.

Blow the whole thing up and try something new. I’d rather that and come 9th than another boring year where we scrape into 5th.

And no, this is not a knee jerk reaction. I’ve been waiting for 2-3 years now for them to capitalise on this whole “lulling the league into a false sense of security” tactic.

It’s boring, it’s pathetic, and it will never win a comp, so why persist?

Agree Pro. When I said it doesn’t matter it wasn’t cos we lost yesterday, it’s because the max potential we have is not enough to beat Penrith or Melbourne or Brisbane for that matter. We might as well be wests.
