The season still feels new, but we're a month in! It's time for another round, so let's go.

Tonight, a scriptwriters dream, DCE returns to Brookvale. He gets a lot of attention though, doesn't he? Is it really worth it? The Roosters look stronger on paper but the emotional return of Daly could work both for or against them.

Friday, a sold-out Mt Smart, Warriors v Tigers. It's 15 years since that nasty little Benji brawl, when they humiliated us with a big comeback win, then taunted us at the siren. There's no 'oh, poor Tigers' from me this weekend!

The Broncos are back in their Friday sweet-spot, but everything's not sweet at Red Hill HQ. Ben Te'o has walked, Madge hasn't balked, and the players look moody. A Dolphins upset!

Saturday, boring Canterbury host the, um, pretty boring Knights. This one feels like a mid-season run-of-the-mill. No Ponga or Brown for Newcastle is an early-season momentum-killer for them. The boringly efficient Panthers should do Parra and Payten has Melbourne in Townsville, just when he didn't need them.

Sunday, it's interesting in Canberra. Both the Raiders and Sharks are having a bit of a stutter. They both have big plans this year but a loss here is another set back. Sticky v Fitzy, it doesn't get more serious than this.

We close with the GC v Saints and a possible wooden-spoon result at play. It's way too early but signs are there. It couldn't be anymore disheartening for fans?

Enjoy.

The Te'o story has blown up a bit hasnt it and the narrative has been nauseating. The journos are tripping over themselves to make him sound like some kind of martyr and turn this into yet another Madge issue.

Meanwhile they're ignoring the fact Teo's an assistant coach who's free to debate his point with the head as much as he wants behind closed doors, but once he's out in public and in front of the playing group, his job is to back his boss. Not spit the dummy and bail when he doesn't get his way. He's more Xerri and Lomax than martyr.

He'll probably get another gig somewhere but if I was running a club, I wouldn't go near him. No one needs that sort of spineless bullshit in the trenches.

Hard to believe how Ben Te’o can get himself into the news, like he is gods gift to assistant coaching etc. He is probably upset that he isn’t the prettiest coach in the box in Brisbane. Was good to see Anasta got sick of the one sided nature of the discussions last night and hit back a bit

Weird one for me at the moment, I’m almost happier if Manly lose, as it’s a step closer to Seibold getting his marching orders. Selecting Wakeham ahead of Walsh has done me completely with him

I've been avoiding 360 so didnt see the Anasta thing but glad to hear someone was trying to balance things out.

On Manly.. who would you like to see take over Beav? One of Demetriou/Arthur/Peters who're being kicked around for the PNG gig, someone new but closer to the club like Ballin, or someone else entirely?

Anyone will do, there has been a bit of noise around old boys pushing for Ballin. Peters has ties to the club but sounds like PNG for him

Arthur has certainly been in the frame in the past as well

Koula! What a slalom. 10-8, Manly. 31st minute.

PS the jerseys are clashing. Surely the Roosters had another uniform? Wayne Scurrah never had that problem with us.

Unbelievably high quality game considering the conditions pre game and how wet it is

No idea how we are leading, Roosters had more ball and the better of the field position, Manly no go forward making 25-30m a set, and a passive defensive line letting the Roosters March forward

This ref impressed me every time I see him, he is my clear number 1 at the moment

Seriously Manly need some go forward - atleast put a winger who can make a few metres rather than being tag dolled every time

Manly should give the young fella some hitups. He had good go forward against us in the pre season game.

Waddell with 3 guys on him and down on 1 knee, surely that’s the tackle and not a situation where 2 drop off and the ball gets pinched
