Round five, about one fifth of our way through another season. Life's flying by, isn't it? But anyway, let's go, again.
Tonight, Easter's ushered in with the Dolphins hosting Foran's Sea Eagles. I want a new coach bounce, even though it's Manly.
Friday, it's good. The Easter Bunnies v Canterbury, Sydney fare. You still come across the odd person (and not necessarily of a certain vintage) that wishes the old NSWRL was still around, with just the Sydney teams. It actually reminds me of 1997, with the ARL competition. Dyed in the wool, they are, through and through.
Panthers v Storm, and the latter will drop out of the top-eight if they lose. A rallying win might start a winning run though, and don't we all love that?
Saturday, St George are due, but the Cowboys have found some form, particularly JT, who looked 2015-esque, which will have the Dragons on their toes. Up in Queensland the derby this time is the Titans v Broncos, the lesser of those derbies these days, as the GC have dropped off somewhat. Sill, they won last week.
Sunday, Cronulla host the (sort of) resurrected Warriors. I was sure we'd risen from the dead of last year, until the Tigers messed about with it. I'd love to go, you'd feel you could still have a swim down there too, which could be the highlight of the day for Warriors fans.
Newcastle are on fire but Canberra's in town, and desperate. Something's got to give! We close on Monday with Parramatta v Wests. Tigers fans are still believing and, in round five, that's truly an Easter miracle!
Enjoy.
