I’m guessing with all these injuries Ryles gets a free pass this year? yet this also has his finger prints all over it considering his axing of former players and not being able to hire decent players instead continuing the theme of purchasing other clubs discards…..I’m sorry but I just don’t see him as the coach to take us forward, he says all the right things, but something appears off to me…..hope to god I’m wrong!

Axing of former players? You mean the old invalid Gutho who was on 960k a year and can’t walk two steps? Ryles has been let down by MON AND Jimmy the mowerman. We gave the other f**ker BA and his sons 13 years.

He was definitely better at the Storm. On the other hand, his attack has been better here, with a TA per game. Swings and roundabouts.

No he was just in a better side and in general looked better. His TAs could of been turning points like the Tigers game rather then trys. Just flukey bounces. Volkman defense is no better but I reckon his attack is sharper with a better run game

I would imagine so, but he will and should be judged by how he attracts new players to the club from here on.

We have cap space, so no excuses.

With a running game..

Pezet doesn't have a running game.


On Pezet we were told he would allow Moses to play more of his natural game as a runner.....

He has. Moses is playing wider and has 5 LBAs in 5 games.

We didn't get rid of those and not replace them. They were replaced by new, better players.

Yeah you can have your own opinion for sure. Just don’t agree. Gutho is currently running backwards at saints and is overpaid for what he offers. You’d be only one that I hav heard of that wants him back. He’s past it but was good 6 years ago.

I'm not too sure how much practice Moses is doing on his goal kicking
We know he is being heavily load managed due to injury history, and we knock that with any persistant leg injuries like he's had, the biggest impact on those is kicking - so i doubt he's spending hours banging over kicks over week.

It doesn't help that our first choice backup is Russell, second choice is Pezet, and 3rd choice i believe is Simonssen - all of whom were off the field when Apa scored his 2 tries.

Our options were Moses on 1 leg, and Tallyn as a 5th string goalkicker.

Funnily in training videos you see the forwards having pot shots from the sideline for bets - and i've seen Junior pot them over when lunch is on the line - maybe we should give him the shot...

Got me thinking…who was the last team that had a full time goal that was a forward, excluding no.9?

Flukey bounces? Pezet turned the game against Brisbane putting Tuilagi through a couple of gaps. He set up one against the Dragons supporting Samrani's break to put TDS away. Then against Penrith he set up a great try for Walker.

I agree Volkman has a better running game, but can he play Pezet's role? How is Moses and our right side attack going to go if Moses has to play more centrally?

Joey Manu is bound to come back and most likely to play fullback with the injuries we have he would be a great replacement now..

We could have traded lomax to the storm for the NRL helping us get Manu to the club for this year atleast..

I reckon everyone involved thinks they could have handled it differently. Let’s face it, everyone lost, from a footy perspective.
Only saving grace is that Melbourne didn’t get their way.

You’ve pointed out some individual moments where Pezet did some good things but overall he’s been a net negative.

Absolutely not, we are a bordering a reserve grade roster, clearly not all Ryles doing, but let’s just see who we sign in the future….once again I didn’t say he should be sacked!

At full strength, we’re a bit an above reserve grade.
As for Ryles, he did two things that make him stand out; took on some strong personalities on his way to a yr1 clean out. That’s a big play for a rookie.
He has not tried to go for a quick fix; signing overs and distorting the cap.
Who know what he’d do with a better roster??
Which leads us back to the point we’re all discussing to the point of redundancy; we need some good signings.

Simonsson is stronger and likely to beat the cover defender with power. Plus contributes more to our go forward.

I am not saying this is wrong but is there a lot more of small zippy lads taking good "hit ups" this year? Like Iongi when he was in.
Maybe these types of hit ups have been a big part of it for a long time I just seem to be noticing it a lot more.
