Probably but who knows certainly not your or I.... Staggered defence or not you need to have the vision and skill to take advantage of it.

I didn't think Apa would make it into the NRL but had 1 game and 2 tries now.
I have no doubt Riley Davis could play NRL now and stand out in broken play situations. It's all the other stuff fullbacks need to be able to do that would make him a liability. At 18 he obviously has a lot of improvement in him but at his size he would need to be a special player to contribute for 80 minutes on an NRL field.

Won’t be long till Bamblett comes knocking. Kids got it. I’m imagining after Ball he’ll jump a few grades this year. He played some flegg last year. One of the best Naturals we have coming through since the O6/O7 batch which brought us Hayne Inu etc.

The only thing that will hamper his career is if the TCT give him the Kiss of death just like the other victims.

If the kid is truly that good, I hope we play him in the halves and only the halves(not fullback) the position we need filling right now and I believe will still be looking to fill for the next 3-5 years at least.

It's called forward thinking and planing. Something we rarely seem to know how to do with much success.

well I didn't say that but I think it wouldn't be the end of the world if he did leave.

I'm actually more concerned about who we bring in.
Well, seems like we have a decent coach, good assistants with a poorly recruited team. Losses replaced with mediocre talent, more than decent junior depth coming through which need some elite level signings to fulfill their potential.

Real question, what are the chances of that happening ?

Probably zero. Wasn’t Ryles quoted at a members forum saying he’d entertain those signings at the right price, or words to that effect?
With the addition of the Bears and teams like the dragons throwing more cash and 5yr deals at KK, ‘elite’ signings at ‘good value’ are gonna be hard to come by.
I think we’ll see a repeat of what’s been happening so far under Ryles.
Hopefully some juniors come good.

Too be fair we’ve got a horrific track record in keeping our elite juniors, let alone signing marquee players, which wr also desperately need, just a vicious circle, no lessons learned

Recently we have had a bad track record.

My issue is that we have a horrific track record of converting elite juniors into elite first graders. or even first graders...
Not saying we aren't doing better this year. Lorenzo has gone from Ball into Cup. we just need to see more of this now.

Blaming Ryles is a stretch, he’s been with the club 12 months and this roster has been assembled by the dynamic duo over 7 years, and doesn’t resemble the talent we had when they assumed responsibility.

Done reasonably well in matters outside recruitment, whatever their KPIs were , they haven’t really achieved any roster improvement , Ryles really has not had a major influence really.
