HUNBELEBABLE - The Fat Controller Beaten

To use one of Fat Rafa's favourite phrases, "Hunbelebable" (Unbeliveable). The man who twice got the better of the Special One has fallen at the ends of The Toad Avram Grant. Rafa always accused Jose of being a whinger and a poor loser, which he was. However in the 2008 Semi Final the Fat Controller decided he would play that game too.

I only bring this up because I think that Rafa deserved what he got deserved this time. He moaned and whinged in the press and used Mourinho style tactics to try and influence refs and bad mouth opposition players.

He shot his mouth off regarding Drogba and it has well and truly backfired. He spoke in derogatory terms about opposition players before the match and this was a very dangerous thing to do, especially when one is a world class striker.

He then went on about needing a "strong" ref at Stamford Bridge and the fact that this ref had previously been in charge of only home team victories. He stated that the only game where the away team had won with this ref was Chelsea at the Mestalla in Valencia. He described this as "curious" Poor form again Rafa.

AFter the first leg he moaned and moaned about how every decision went against his team. He also questioned why there were 4 minutes of stoppage time when there was only 1 in the first half!!

Well Fat Controller, you got what you deserved. And yes, your time in charge is ticking away. Hunbelebable

Why he took Torres off when we went down 2-1 to that thoroughly ridiculous penalty I'll never know. THAT decision cost us the game.

yeah its amazing we get any sort of success in europe, 4th in EPL and have to be one of the most frustrating sides to watch and support but still manage to make it to the semi's in the ECL. Chelsea finally get one over rafa in this competiton and suiddenly he's sh*thouse.

I think it shows that Rafa has the tactical nous to beat certain teams in one-off ties but doesn't have the depth to compete over the course of an entire season.

Hardly - he has done a great job with no cattle.

Hybrid Tiger is a myth ...

LOL @ the no cattle line. At the start of this season Liverpool fans were convinced this was finally "their year". As with every other year, it turned out that it wasn't, of course.

Now when they exit, Benitez gets the excuse of "no cattle". What a load of crap.

Please tell me who bought the following assorted trash: Benayoun, Arbeloa, Aurelio :)lol:), Crouch, Voronin, Kuyt :)lol:) etc. Millions and millions of dollars on rubbish. And now he gets the excuse of no cattle? Crap. He bought his cattle.

Please tell me what is so good about Benitez? For all his plaudits he arsed a CL in 2005 and apart from that won the FA Cup. He has failed miserably in the Premier League year after year and apart from Torres, he has spent millions and millions on absolute rubbish players. Who's fault is that?

you'll get no arguement from em ate, for all the millions he has spent he has brought stuff all quality to the club. at times its almost like the rabbits, paying overs for players that really arent worth it. there is so much deadwood still needed to be cut free from the club.

we have stuff all quality in the first squad and very little depth to back anything up.

While you seem to extract great pleasure from coming on here and rubbishing every side that you can, you also seem to prefer fantasy over fact.

The 'millions spent' crap is a myth. Torres aside, he bought who he could. Some have proved successful, others not - just like every other manager. Where is the criticism of Jose for the likes of Shevchenko?

Anyone that suggested Liverpool were going to challenge for the title this season was kidding - I certainly never thought any such thing. Stop generalising. We don't have the funds to buy a premiership just yet.

Arsed a CL? Cool, I'll happily arse a CL any day. I assume we arsed the final last year and semi-finals this year too ...

The only fact is that Benitez has bought rubbish. No-one can deny this. His transfer policy is ABYSMAL.

Who's fault is that? His. But then when you get knocked out of every comp, he gets the excuse of "not having the cattle".

I don't know why you are defending him regardless. If I was a Liverpool fan I would not be happy with the mediocrity that has been constantly dished up under Benitez. It is not good enough, and neither is his transfer policy, or squad selection.

With the transfer policy I agree. Well, I'd say he has been hit and miss. Rather than buy 10 mediocre players (plus Voronin who doesn't even qualify as mediocre) he should buy two quality.

My point though is that we're not going to find a better manager. I don't want some old England hack. At least Benitez is tactically sound.

I don't know how you can call Benitez "tactically sound" when he has consistently failed in the Premier League.

Rijkaard? No

Jose maybe but he is no better than Rafa.

Lippi maybe - might bring in a few Italians which I wouldn't mind

You don't need to be a great team to win the ECL any more.

IMO the best team usually wins the league.

Anyone can win the champions league by boring opposition to death and scraping by on home results. Just take a look at Liverpool  Probably the reason why SAF is trying the same style this year.

Years gone by SAF would send his teams in all guns blazing. He got called naive for not playing a defensive game. This year he is boring people to death in the ECL. Damned if you do, Damned if you dont.

Defence wins the CL.

Well that's true.

I certainly didn't delude myself that my Reds were the best team in Europe in 2006.

Still, I'll take the trophy thankyou very much just as I'm sure you'll be celebrating if Man U win in Moscow.
