this time last year they were running dead last. it's the cycle of the salary cap....they have spent on O'Meley and Mason and will get a couple of years at the top before they fall back down again. the emergence of Pearce is alos a big factor this season.

as you have pointed out though, they have already started to lose players with Tupou a big loss for them. Amos is still off contract isn't he? and Fitzy?

no, he took the option that was in his previous contract to stay until the end of 2009, the same as what Boyd and Stagg did, but Cullen has told all three of them that if they want to they can look elsewhere for a longer contract that is worth more money then they can.

Not sure if the whole thing is that accurate, it says Gareth Ellis is off contract with the Tigers at end of 09... but thats his first year of a 3 year deal ??
