James Mortimor, Belrose Eagles.

Hi guys,

In one of the English League papers, it mentions that my club (Hull Kingston Rovers) have signed a young centre called James Mortimor who plays for Belrose. Apparently he just played in the Jim Beam Select side, but was born in England in our area.

Anyone have any info on him, think he's got potential?

James Mortimer is one of the 3 sons of former Canterbury back Peter Mortimer. Peter has lived in rural NSW for many years but when his sons got the right age they were all sent to Manly. James has alternated between the Manly reserve grade and the Belrose Eagles over the last 3 years and is currently in the JIm Beam Cup rep team. He plays mainly in the centres but has been known to play 5/8 or wing.

The other brothers Tim and Daniel have moved on to the Wentworthville and Parramatta clubs, who are joint venture partners.

What's his style, is he big and strong, small and fast ect? I tried the Belrose website, but it doesn't work. Any idea how old he is, are there any stats on him available?

I have seen him play from time to time and he goes ok. But have not seen him recently.

You could try the Manly website though mate. They might know a lot more about him.

I dont think there is a lot of truth behind this. After speaking with 'Morts' he just mentioned to some of the BARLA players at the Quad series he was interested in playing in England but thats about it.
