21,000 is a good crowd only because Sydneysiders have diminished our expectations to the point where we now have been fooled into thinking that this number is adequate in a city of 4.2 million.

the titans are averaging around 22,000 and 2nd on the crowd stakes.

maybe its the titans who have fooled us into thinking 22,000 is a good crowd?

yeah 1 city towns should do well as they dont compete with other clubs

many dont.

The population of Canberra is only around 300k. You are also being a little dishonest because sometimes Sydney clubs play against other Sydney sides and should be able to get decent crowds from both home and away supporters.

all the more reason to keep them (sydney teams in)

cowboys crowds are over 20,000 from a smaller population.

Really? Righto, my bad. I was lead to believe that that was the profits.

if sydney clubs keep marketing like they are, they will match those revenues.

though i think if the salary cap were larger the broncos would push their memberships more and make more revenues.

now they dont push them as much because they are limited in how much they can spend on players.

are you actually that stupid or just mentally deficient?

hey if its because sydney has brought everyones expectations down, ill just remind people that the team coming second in crowds are getting pretty much the same crowd as souths got today

21,000 is a fantastic crowd and it was quite cold today too

If Brissy had the same membership drive the Titans have been having we'd be averaging 40-45K, no doubt.. f**king news... (yes, we hate them too)

Both.

So according to Chandos, Sydney teams who draw from a much larger population for crowds yet average crowds smaller than Teams with much smaller populations (Cowboys, Gold Coast etc) is a reason to keep the Sydney teams in the comp?

i think the broncos will crack 40,000 soon myself.

good to hear your comments on news, but they will never let your club go

Lauchlan Murdoch's a Broncos fan so at the end of the day he'll try and help the club succeed as opposed to milking it 'till it dies, I guess that makes it a little easier to swallow.

Interesting story can't remember where I heard it but Wayne Bennet wanted to take over the Broncs with the Thoroughbreds (a group of successful businessmen associated with the club) & because of that, News went on a smear campaign against him (remember all those stories about hidden payments?) & that guy who owned a mining company who was disgraced by the media.

Anyways end of story the politics at the Broncos are rediculous, but remember News only have a 60% share, not 100% like with Melbourne. So there is hope!

They went to the Telstra Dome in 01 and got pretty much the same crowds as what they do now

http://stats.rleague.com/rl/games/melbourne.html

But when they played the warriors in round 1 they got a good crowd at the Telstra Dome, so they should get good crowds at the new rectangular stadium

their crowds have gone up but at Olympic park since then after the origin game down there.

id expect 20,000 in the new ground
