Mason negotiated his departure. He didn't leave for money. He left because it wasn't working where he was. And he negotiated his departure. He didnt piss and moan and bitch for 4 months then run away and hide in Europe, breach his contract and dog all his team mates, and the fans. Canterbury did not give SBW his future. He would have been an outrageous success no matter what club he went to. Canterbury got hold of him and made bloody sure they didn't let him go. That is all they have done.

I have no doubt the other 15 teams would have pounced. He had natural abilities sure but the Bulldogs still made him in the player he is today. I understand they didnt give him size, strength and speed and anything else that made SBW a great player, but they still put a great deal of time, money and resources into assuring he got to where he did in his football career.

I agree, if he wanted out then that is why you have a manager, you sort it out like a MAN and not a snot nosed little kid who runs off like a thief in the night. It was gutless and disrespectful and has lost all credibility.

Who are you to say what he's worth? The guy only plays half the total games cause he's so injury prone. The Bulldogs offering him a 5 year contract is a gamble on their part.

And what are the Bulldogs supposed to do? Give each player an IQ test before offering them a contract? Do you know his IQ by the way? He's old enough to sign the legal document, therefore he's old enough to face the consequences.

I'm hoping the Bulldogs force him to sit out the next 4 years.
