You are kidding right.

Have a sneak peek at what they have started on the Sunshine Coast.

last time i checked that as in Queensland

is there a point to them remaining in Manly seeing ithey are neglecting the area and NSW?

Beaver, Adam Cuthbertson, Jason King and Anthony Watmough are all Manly juniors. Just for comparison, I remember reading the dogs only had 5 local juniors in their team for most of the year, and they have a far larger area to draw from, and there is also a strong union presence on the beaches.

^^^Probably those, but so what? Manly's juniors area is relatively small, and there are two union teams on the peninsula. Of course a team like Parra will have more juniors in their teams, they have a much larger group of juniors to draw from, the law of averages dictates that they will therefore get more NRL standard players.

i am of the opinion that clubs who do f**k all for league especially in their own area should be forced to relocate to an area that has something to offer

imo it is the best way for league to grow

Manly could do more, if they were given a wider juniors area to work with. And I would hardly say Manly do nothing, there is a strong local competition here despite the relatively small size of the area, and we do produce a reasonable amount of juniors relative to the amount of players we have.

Just out of interest, who do you go for and how many local juniors are in the team?

Parra and we have a stack

there'd be more Parra juniors in the Manly team next year than Manly juniors

i wouldn't expect anything else from a fan of a team with a huge junior nursery and sweet f**k all to show for it other than a giant chip on your shoulder.

the reply i'd exprct from someone who supports a club with 0 juniors

imagine if all clubs were like that. the game would die

Rubbish. Junior development would merely become an NRL responsibility, I see no problem with that.

yup

just pass the problem on to someone else. let them do all the work

the NRL couldn't organise a root in a brothel with a handfull of 50's anyway

Great idea mate.

Lets leave the entire north shore as well as the northern beaches hating the NRL.

Steve Menzies,Anthony Watmough,Jason King,Vic Mauro and Adam Cuthbertson.

When we buy players from other clubs we make them into solid first graders ,before they came to MANLY they were average first graders.

Yea that's not really true is it.

Bell and Orford were both outstanding players before leaving melbourne. Perry, well he played for NSW and won a premiership, he wasnt in sparkling form but his improvement has been minimal. Lyon, played tests for australia and was one of the most dangerous right centres in the game. Kite, was in great form for StGeorge when Manly bought him.

Manly bought well, but im not having any of this sh*t about how Des turned them into great players from nothing. They went on a huge spending spree, bought a lot of senior players into the club and bought a premiership like usual. Im not saying its right or wrong, but please lets not pretend its anything other than that.

Yes Manly buy players. So do lots of other clubs, they might not do as much of it as Manly but that is life. The game is a business nowdays and not all areas have a large junior base to draw from.
