It seems like its getting more expensive than ever to go to the footy these days. By the time you pay for a ticket, have something to eat or drink in the stadium, and the petrol used to get there or take public transport, its more than $100 bucks for an outing. We have to look at ways to get the battler and middle income socio economic people, who represent middle australia to our games to improve crowds.

Tickets for Bulldogs games are $20 if you pre purchase and $25 on game day, i thikn that is too much. GA seats should be around $15 but no more then 20.

I think $25 is ok. Generally pay around $15 for movies dont you nowdays? I think footy is better value and I have no issue paying more to attend a footy game than a movie.

If you buy a Season Membership you support your club, usually end up paying much less than $20 a game and you don't have to wait in queues!

Why not? You should be able to get full or part memberships and pay over a period of time to lessen the pay out factor.

It cost us $15 last year to see the WA Reds in the Jim Beam Cup!

I would say $15 for cheap seats and $20 for best seats should be the go to get bigger crowds. Also parent tickets and family tickets need to be much better value and include a kids drinks voucher.

Raiders GA tickets are too expensive... $25 if you buy online early, or $30 at the gate.

Difference between going to the movies/zoo/etc is that you tend to only do those things once every few eeks where as the footy can be weekly or every other week, hence why it seems alot more. $15 would be a good price, especially if it included a free child under 12 with the ticket.

$20 is probably around the mark for GA, but memberships are the way to go, usually a one-off payment or instalments for some.

But I would pay top dollars to watch the Storm:)

Not sure if this was brought up at the Forum yesterday, it should have
the game needs to become more affordable

what would you rather see
20,000 @ $15
12,000 @ $25 (average price)

have a think about this -

if you had to hold a game at a stadium, (let's assume a crowd of 12,000), how much would you need to charge to break even ?
include all the costs such as rental, lighting, security, event staff, insurance, etc etc

before, sydney clubs could run the games at a loss and give away cheap tickets, but with the poker machine tax and smoking bans sending all the leagues clubs backwards, that cash cow has long gone.

It all comes down to what makes more money, a small crowd with expensive tickets or a huge crowd with cheap tickets.
