Give head the number 7 and see how he goes. Don't know what to do about hornby. I've said that maybe he should be on the bench as a utility player but some people have disagreed. But he shouldn't be at fullback as that should be where nightingale/boyd should play.

Funny Hornby has played for Aust at 1/2 back yet I don't think Head even played City v Country.

Head was pushed by St george, always asking to come back early from injuries, St George was partly to blame, lets hope he is over the worst as for me i want head :)

the more i think about it the more i know Hornby is on the outer, we need speed from the back and as far Half is concerned hornby just doesnt do it for me

If he is so good why was he dumped by the Tigers and couldn't get a contract anywhere else? And don't say injuries cause plenty of players have had massive injury problems but still manage to find themselves with a decent contract.

He is just like Tim Smith has nothing but a short kicking game and when it's off he has nothing. When he was our regular No 7, I didn't recall us killing the NRL and when we made our run in 05 he was not our No 7 Hornby was. I think our halves should be Hornby and Soward under Bennett's guidance they should kill it.

I agree Head is not the answer but neither is Hornby I have mentioned it three thousand and sixty eight times already, but we are really lacking a quality half, we need someone like Mongahan.

My back line would go

1. Hornby
2. Morris
3. Stanley
4. Cooper
5. Nightingale
6. Soward
7. Head

And I'd tinker with it from there. I think for the first few games get them all on the park, lets see what they can all do. If things dont work , then make changes, but from that 7 there is class, speed, vision, safety, and a whole bunch of other footballing qualities that you want in a backline

I agree, hopefully in seasons to come we can sign a gun player there but until then Hornby is our best option, plus he has lost way to much speed to play fullback anymore and he is to good and on to much cash to just sit on the bench.

I don't get what your trying to say??? Hornby and Head are going for the same position in the same side.

I'm just saying that pointing out rep honours isn't a repflection of how good a player they are.

Hornby isn't a dangleberry on a fit Head at #7.

Brendojet .. The backline you listed would probably be slower than the forwards .. Hornby and Head are way too slow for fullback and half. It's also a pissweak defensive set of backs.

Morris and Soward are very quick, and Nightingale is no slouch. Not sure why Boyd was left out of that backline though.

So you're basing your claim that Head can't play on the fact he wasn't there when the Dragons were on a huge run to the finals? Please...

Why can't I say injuries? The problem with Head as with a lot of the Dragons in past times was getting them on the park all at once. He was in huge demand when he burst onto the scene but then he broke down. He hasn't quite been the same and he has been slown down massively as a result but that doesn't mean he doesn't have ability. He showed flashes of what he can do at the Tigers on one leg, imagine what he *could* do if he was back to full fitness...

As for why he was rejected by the Tigers, he doesn't fit in with their style. They try to run their opponents off their feet and with Head's lack of running game doesn't quite fit in.

Bennett brought Head back for a reason, he still obviously thinks he has something to offer.
