You've quoted me out of context. I was commenting on Rams statement about "crimes against civil liberty."
Fair enough; not my intention. But I do think a blanket ban is never going to work and isn't the way to go.

My take on this is that they are professional athletes who get paid to perform at the highest level. It is proven that alcohol inhibits muscle recovery and for that very reason they should be prevented from drinking any booze 24 hours after the game. I certainly don't want them tanked in the days leading up to a game either.
It is proven is it?
try google scholar for a comprehensive list of scientific research articles. i challenge you to find one, prefereably several for validity, research articles implicating ethanol in impeded mucslce recovery.
if its reported in the media i must be true.
i dont want them tanked either before the game, but if someone chooses to have 2-4 maybe 5 beers the night before a game to calm the nerves and still plays to their potential regularly, i have no problem whatsoever.
Quite simple really.
1 Clause.: "If you are proved at fault and/or Guilty of any Alcohol related Incident or Indiscretion, your contract will be Terminated Immediately with no claim for compensation or repatriation on the Clubs behalf"

Who defines what constitutes an incident or indiscretion? And what about those who commit similar or even worse indiscretions but were not on the grog at the time?
welllllllllllllllllll..
I would 'assume' that it would be the same people who determine what constitutes an indiscretion when they weren't on the grog, most likely the Board & Legal Advisors/agencies.???
Ok... So how would you go about wording that in a player's contract then?
lol if i knew that.. i would be a solicitor... i would dare say it would be worded much the same as the conditions imposed on players who have 'offended' in the past...

"Play up and you're on your f**king bike" just about covers it.

LOL
Couldn't have said it better myself
Lova ya work Suity.
Don't say stuff like that, he'll only add it to his signature !
Summed up rather nicely i think....."Play up and you're on your f**king bike" just about covers it.

To let them have their freedoms though, we need to punish the f**k out of the ones that do err.
Being individually responsible (as Finchy says) means that players have to take responsibility when it's them in the avoidable stupid situations. Let's hope this year we don't have any of the garbage that has previous befallen a variety of Parra players in years gone by (Smith, Riddell, Hayne, Weller, Cayless, Hindmarsh and anyone else I left out). Because by Finchy's words, they will be individually responsible.
Just baby sit the babies who cant handle booze like the mommy boy Stewart. Just put him in nappies, read him a bed time story and uck him in bed with a teddy bear. Problem solved. On the other hand any player that can handle booze, let him drink. We all know manly players are mummy boys who can't handle alcohol. Enough said. Moderators close trhis thread. I demand it
