Seriously, just saw an ad for a current affair tomorrow and the leading story was "state of origin scandal", some bullsh*t about ben ikins family business being dodgy or something.

obviously it's a nothing story, and has nothing to do with league, but that is their lead in to the state of origin coverage. what the hell are they thinking???????????

Well I don't need proof that Channel nine doesn't give a f**k about league but A Current Affair marketing are not stupid. They are trying to squeeze the last drop out of the Rugby League scandal on State of Origin night. People will watch too, because they have Nine on early for the footy or because they want to see Footy fall over. The thing is it never does. Look at the Sharks situation, it was massive a few weeks ago with people who never watch footy taking an interest in the story. Nevermind that the story was a beat up manipulated by the media to get top ratings. The Sharks were a week away from collapse according to some reports. Now they have a new sponsor rumoured and after this Gallen black merkin thing dies down, it will be back to business as usual. League will keep going.

not that it needs saying but a current affair is absolute garbage.

not one single story they have ever run would have been balanced, or presented the facts without a completely skewed spin.

you would have to be an idiot to watch that sh*t

And as for channel 9. Unfortunately they show rugby league otherwise there would be no reason whatsoever to watch them. Loved how David Gyngell showed such great support for his mate Matt Johns. His prewritten moral high ground statements during the cronulla "scandal" were vomit worthy.

Well, I guess that explains why you're an idiot, then, since you watch ACA all the time.

Unless, ofcourse, you mean to tell me you're making up baseless statements without having ever watched a single episode.

You dont have to watch it all the time to know its rubbish you f**king moron. The whole point of the show is to sensationalise stories to appeal to people who dont know better. This can be gathered by watching one episode.

Now f**k off

Yes - in life there are two choices - watch every episode of ACA - or none at all.

Not really sure if this has anything to do with it, but ACA is produced in Melbourne. Either way coming from Melbourne or not, Channel Nine truly is a f**ked up network. If they are running the story to drum up intrest in SOO this is not the way to do it. I thought the CEO of nine was a massive league fan. I know you can't me biased if something bad in the game happens, be this is a nothing story, and to run it on SOO nigt!

Eddie McGuire didnt mind letting his bias get in the way when he ran 9.

I am in the process of reading the Bible, just so that I have a base for my arguments as to why it is a crock of sh*t. Not so much the stories, but the whole belief that if you pray every day you will get a motorbike (As one idiot has told me he gives the church 10 % of his pay every week and if he prays hard enough , he will get a motorbike from god).

Needless to say I laughed my arse off, and told him to stop being such a fanny.

In summary, researching the thing you want to bag out is not a bad idea.

Ben Ikin? Why would anyone want to work with Channel 9? First Mat Johns and now Benny Ikin...
