tbh, im not really looking to ask her out yet, pretty much just talk to her. No use asking her out if i cant talk to her.

common interests will help with both the reason to start talking to her and reason to keep talking to her.
Also don't be afraid to make the conversation mostly about her. People in general can't help talking about themselves - and before you know it she will start asking about your life as well.
After a while you can start slipping in compliments (looking really pretty today, gee - i love talking to you) and hopefully you won't come on too strong for her!
