There is still more chance of Melbourne moving to Gosford once Rupert's cheques start bouncing.

Then all we have to do is get rid of the Broncos, Titans and Cowboys..
bring the bears back.. then change the NRL to NSWRL right?
Future is in the past hey Loudstrat?

Really dumb idea.

There is no point is relocating a financially ruined club like the Sharks.

Firstly, the few supporters that remain in the shire are extremely tribal, and certainly wouldn't transfer their loyalties across to a Perth based team. Current supporters support the Sharks because they represent their area, and have a historical link to them.

Secondly, a team based in a city like Perth needs its own identity. Relocating the Sharks would only make it more difficult for Western Australian based supporters to take ownership of their new team. So not only would relocating the Sharks alienate their current supporters, it would make it much more difficult for the new team to attract new supporters.

Thirdly, relocation would mean the Sharks board, who have shown nothing but incompetence, would be rewarded with a fresh start and a huge new NRL grant. Relocating inept administrators is not going to miraculously make them competent. It wil simply shift the problem several thousand kilometers west.

Lastly, the Sharks have a poor history of off-field behaviour (M. Johns, Latu, Gallen, Seymour, Maitua, Bird etc). Is this the sort of septic, unsavory culture we want to transplant into a fresh new city? Why not give a Perth team half a chance by not burdening them with so much unwanted 'baggage'? Let them create their own culture without burdening them with all the Sharks unwanted skeletons and negative press.

Perths first signing was Mark Geyer. Didn't he eye gouge player Quinn in a Reds jumper and threaten to kill him?

At least in Cronulla clubs tend to survive more than 2 seasons.

I take it you think relocating the Sharks to Perth is a wonderful idea?

Good for you. Personally I disagree.

I believe if the Sharks can't afford to remain in the Shire, they should be allowed to rot on Rugby League's vine of mediocrity. Why transplant a failed team with a failed culture? Much better to allow a new Perth team to create a fresh, positive beginning.

As bad as they have been, they’ll never be a patch on the All Blacks

That’s right. They need some Western Farce Quokka kicking culture

Ha ha we did sign M. Geyer and Julian O'Neil last time around! Hopefully we won't repeat mistakes of the past!

:) Loudy, Sharks have had more bail outs than an Australian car manufacturer!

Not sure what the ABs have to do with this thread?

Perhaps you should start a thread about the ABs team culture? I would argue that the Sharks team culture is infinitely worse.

Till then do you mind keeping on-topic? This is a thread about a hypothetical relocation of the Sharks to Perth. Please don't turn it into a Rugby vs League s**t-fight.
