They're proud of that the scum bags. Any team who has to have police patrol their games are scum.

Everyone knows they're the scum of the league they're just too dumb to realise it.

I've seen police patrolling Kogarah every time I've been there...

There's police at every ground but when the scumdogs play they seem to triple in presence.

Family team my ass. The only family there are the dozens of cousins with their knives and knuckle dusters

Shouldn't that be Internet POLICE? In bold of course.

Yeah, you're right Tim. Saints have a violent history - over fifty years at the one ground and there's blood on the footpath every round. And Saints fans are known for destroying public property afterwards. The evidence is everywhere.

Canterbury, on the other hand, have never given the club a bad name. In fact, when they play against us at Kogarah, the police have nothing to do other than to hold hands and sing kum ba yah.

Call the nurse. We have another Berries supporter who thinks denial is a river in Egypt.

What truth? I go to far more 'Dogs games than you do, I don't see any more police than any other game. Never been involved in an altercation and it's been four years since I witnessed one at ANZ.

The use of age-old stereotypes is really quite tiring.

League fans blamed for rampage after match

Andrew West and Brad Walter
August 26, 2009

SUPPORTERS of the Bulldogs rugby league team went ''berserk'', vandalising a CityRail train after their team won a match on Monday night, a leaked security report reveals.
CityRail has confirmed the train, operating between Olympic Park and Lidcombe stations, was attacked but declined to blame Canterbury supporters directly for the damage.
''RailCorp can confirm that on the bump-out from the Bulldogs-Roosters match last night one of its trains was found to be vandalised with a number of windows missing,'' a RailCorp spokesman said yesterday.
''The particular train which was vandalised is an older set and not fitted with CCTV. Those responsible for this damage have not been identified.''
But an official report from the shift manager's log at the Rail Management Centre identified club supporters as the offenders.
It said a RailCorp staff member who had been at the game with his daughter and a friend had boarded the train crowded with supporters leaving Olympic Park. ''The employee reported that they had not been threatened but [he] was concerned for their safety, as the Bulldogs supporters in Car 3981 were going berserk and smashing all the light fittings and kicking out the windows, even though the Bulldogs had won the match by a convincing margin.''
A RailCorp source said rail staff had worked hard to contain the melee but were overwhelmed, although no one was injured.
The report said that as the train stalled outside Lidcombe station: ''Bulldogs supporters began jumping from the train and on to the tracks.''
Fans lit paper fires inside the carriages. The police also received a 000 call about 9.15pm on Monday reporting a fire on a train carrying fans between Belmore and Campsie.
The Bulldogs chief executive, Todd Greenberg, said he was unaware of trouble involving club supporters on Monday but promised to investigate. ''We will take the strongest possible stance against anyone who behaves irresponsibly either on the way to the game, at the game or on the way home.''
Over the past decade, Bulldog fans have been identified as being involved in riots and damage to trains, especially after matches.
RailCorp's spokesman added: ''This issue will be considered in planning security arrangements for this weekend's game between the Bulldogs and the Warriors."

Not to mention, of course, the bottles that were thrown onto Kogarah Oval after the Dogs' try was disallowed last season. The media was very quiet after that in order to ensure that the love-in with the family club could continue. Oh what a lovely fairy tale it is!

I don't catch the train ;-)

Really? Could've sworn it was the front page photo on the Tele website for 2-3 days after the game and the single most commented-on article on their website EVER...

NRL promises to get tough as crowd violence blights Souths-Bulldogs game

By Stuart Honeysett
April 15, 2009 Bulldogs supporters allegedly used text messages to call for reinforcements as police investigated incidents of crowd violence that left two security guards bloodied and bruised during Monday night's game against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.
NSW police have confirmed they were looking into two incidents after a 17-year-old pregnant woman was also knocked to the ground while attempting to pass another scuffle following the match.
With crowd violence issues marring rugby league, AFL and football in recent times, NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley issued a warning that any troublemakers wanting to indulge in violence at matches risked life bans.
The first incident, at about 8.30pm, was sparked after a group of Bulldogs fans had ignored repeated warnings to stop smoking inside the venue. It led to one patron being ejected.
It is believed that after his eviction, text messages were sent out by the group calling for reinforcements as a fight broke out between them, security and police.
Police and ANZ Stadium management have confirmed a security guard, believed to be part of the team that asked the patron to leave, was bashed and later treated for bruising and minor scratches to his face.
It has emerged that another security guard received similar injuries.
Police rushed to the scene and the fight spilled out of the seating and into the concourse before the patrons involved left the stadium.
"The guard was spoken to and at this time is not seeking charges to be laid," a police statement said.
"However, police inquiries are continuing, with CCTV footage to be reviewed as part of the investigation.
"Three males were ejected from the grounds of the stadium by police officers following the fight.
"One of the males was issued with a CIN (Criminal Infringement Notice) for the offence of behave in an offensive manner; a second person was cautioned for offensive behaviour."
Police are also reviewing CCTV footage of the other incident in which the pregnant woman was rushed to hospital after being knocked to the ground while trying to leave the stadium with two friends at about 9pm.
"A short time later the woman began to complain of abdominal pain," a police statement said.
"She was treated at the scene and taken to Canterbury Hospital where she was assessed by doctors and found to have no injuries.
"She was released from hospital last night. At this time, the woman has indicated she would prefer not to provide investigating police with a formal statement in relation to the incident."
South Sydney received complaints about the behaviour of some Bulldogs supporters and these have been forwarded to the NRL and ANZ Stadium.
Crowd violence has blighted football lately. The AFL was forced to look at an incident last week in which the father of Melbourne midfielder Nathan Jones was allegedly assaulted by three Collingwood supporters.
Newcastle police charged a man, while two others went to hospital with serious facial injuries, following a brawl between Knights and Manly supporters after their round-four match.
Annesley and ANZ Stadium deputy chief executive Daryl Kenny reviewed extra security footage of the incidents on Monday night.
The league has the power to issue life bans to supporters who misbehave at games. The Bulldogs are livid with the culprits and desperate to weed them out.
"We're disappointed that the team's strong on-field performance is being overshadowed by a minority group of misbehaving troublemakers," Bulldogs chief executive Todd Greenberg said.
"In my view they're not Bulldogs supporters. They're not even rugby league supporters. They're troublemakers and the club will work with police and the stadium to try to identify them. We will deal with them accordingly."

Apart from Mr. Honeysett's insistence that it was Bulldogs supporters, where is the proof on that one?

For all we know they're just hoodlums using the Stadium as another place to cause problems...

Hoodlums who happen to follow the Bulldogs perhaps? Here is the give away...

The Bulldogs are livid with the culprits and desperate to weed them out.

If they were some random hoodlums out to cause trouble and in no way connected with the Bulldogs, then why are the Bulldogs "working with the police", and why would the Bulldogs want to "deal with them accordingly", if those hoodlums were unconnected with the Bulldogs?

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a good chance that it's a duck.

Riot squad gets Bulldogs season ticket
By Justin Norrie Police Reporter
March 20, 2006

THE ranks of NSW riot police will be doubled to 100 and dozens of riot officers could be deployed at Canterbury Bulldogs games to target brawling fans, under a plan being canvassed by the NSW Police Commissioner.

Ken Moroney has told the Herald that 750 police graduates, to be introduced to front lines next year, will also allow him to boost forensic police numbers from 650 to 820 by next year.

"Apart from the riot squad, the area that is expanding exponentially in police work and has more demand than any other is forensics," Mr Moroney said. "I'd like to keep increasing it by 5 to 10 per cent each year."
Mr Moroney revealed more plans to boost numbers at the state's crime command, which runs specialist units such as the fraud squad, from 800 to 1000 in three years to stem a rise in white-collar and cyber crime.
But he said the extra 750 police would be partly accounted for by the "200-odd officers" - or 1.4 per cent of the state's 14,650-strong police force - on long-term sick leave.

The most pressing concern was the expansion of the riot squad and the possibility of using it at Bulldogs games after violence on Friday night, he said.

"I want to use that 750 increase to add at least another 50 officers to the riot squad - that's a minimum - and hopefully more," Mr Moroney said. "Myself and [the Police Minister] Carl Scully will meet with the Bulldogs and the NRL on Wednesday and we'll talk about what the club can do … and about the option of riot police who have special techniques for that sort of violent crowd behaviour."

Witnesses described a ferocious attack by up to eight young men wearing Bulldogs jerseys on three older Wests Tigers fans outside Telstra Stadium on Friday night after a game. Police made only one arrest during the game, but spectators recalled seeing two brawls in the stands, one of which they said involved up to 50 people.

Yesterday police issued court notices to four people on charges of affray after reviewing television footage of one brawl.

Mr Moroney said the parties to Wednesday's crisis meeting would also consider such measures as segregating Bulldogs fans and banning for life any found guilty of violence.

He was supported by the Premier, Morris Iemma, who described the behaviour of some Bulldogs fans as "shameful".

Violence has marred many Bulldogs games in recent years. In 2004 the club was given a suspended punishment of four points after a brawl between its fans and Roosters supporters.

In a statement issued yesterday the Bulldogs chief executive, Malcolm Noad, said it would be unfair to characterise the club by the actions of "a small bunch of idiots" but warned his fans that "we face the very real possibility of a loss of points and a heavy fine if further crowd problems occur".

But the Opposition's spokesman for police, Mike Gallacher, said the Government's announcement was a stunt: "This isn't 750 new police; it's merely an additional 150 after factoring in the 600 officers Labor slashed and did not replace."
