Yeah, when we got back to 22-18 we went back into our shell...
Disagree. They went up the middle agreed, however they tried too hard if anything. They forgot what got them back in to the game and tried to force everything.

Good effort in the second half though. Just needed that commitment and effort in the first half.

Yeah, when we got back to 22-18 we went back into our shell and played up the middle instead of on the fringes which is where we got our 18 points.

Anyway, the boys played extremely well and should have their heads held up high with the "old boys".
.
I'm with you - got to a point - then changed or didn't do the same

Agreed with the 'back into their shell' sentiment. I got a strong feeling Dragons were gonna hold on when they went back to basics.

Bad luck guys. Knights have had no lukc this season and they've done well to as high as they are.

I know we gee up the dragons about choking but it would be harsh on their fans to see it all over again. They showed last night they have turned the corner because they learned from the raiders ambush. We ambushed them in the second half but when the pressure mounted they responded well. Back to back Minors is a huge effort in this day and age. Best of all they did it legally which says a lot.

All I can say is DAMNIT!!!!

I knew it was such a longshot to make the finals but I still hoped we put ourselves in with the best chance by winning our remaining games.
We were so close, I was sure we would come back and snatch a win after getting back to 18-22, maybe that's what the boys thought as well, it would just happen for them.

Unfortunately I can see us getting a touchup next week vs the Storm, nothing for us to play for, Melb will think a good final performance together will mean something. Yeah they're lucky to have played any games together

What did you Knights fans think of Saints not getting a penalty in the 2nd half? I thought Emmett was unlucky not to get a penalty when Gidley's hand interfered with his play the ball but the offside play when a Knight caught the ball about 3m in front of his teammate who the ball bounced off was tragic as the ref ruled play on.
I think the refs made the game closer than it would otherwise have been. Cooper's and Doogs' tries should have been treated the same too.

They were treated the same. They were both sent for refs call.

Just happened the touchy was in a good position for doogs' try.

If the touchie was in a good position in the first place, why did it go to the video ref for? IMO it was not a try, landed short and then was held up.

Same reason every other try does. Because refs are apprehensive about making a decision, because they know idiots will whine about it.

You're entitled to your opinion. You thought no try, touchy thought try. :)

Was there last night with the family in amongst a bunch of Dragons supporters. These Dragons supporters were shouting out "You suck Boo-Castle!" so we yelled out "Chokers!" just before they dropped the ball.

You don't get that kind of interactivity on TV!

Need to fix our defence up the middle for sure, hopefully Costigan can help in that department, and good to see De Gois playing well again. One thing I've really noticed about our props is that they're not only powderpuffs in attack but defensively they rarely dominate the ruck. Beside Taufua, and Fa'aoso at times our props are very tame in defence. Tolar is as soft as cottage cheese, Kaufusi doesn't miss many tackles but doesn't exactly hit hard, and Cross hasn't laid on a dominant tackle in about 3 seasons, also struggles alot with lateral movement (eg Dean Young try). Maybe someone like Edwards can help, Costigan should improve us, and hopefully having Gids at the back will offer abit more stability
