To finish the redevelopment the state government promised, we need about $15m (in 2008, probably a bit more with inflation).

That would extend the Western grandstand on the Northern side, replacing the temporary stands that are there now (roughly $12m) and develop the Jubilee Avenue end in a similar fashion to the English Street Northern stand.

I would expect we get the funding for it in the next couple of years, after the WIN Stadium Western Grandstand is finished.

If we keep getting big crowds it forces the NSW Gov's hand. Only concern is if all the Government development funding is pumped into the FIFA WC bid.

The State Government never promised any such thing.

The plan for the redevelopment was put together by the club and Kogarah Council and both State/Federal Governments have contributed funding towards the works.

At no point has the State Government promised funding for the complete plan.

Jubbsy, were the state govt only funding in the initial stages?

I recall a $ for $ arrangement between St George Leagues and the NSW govt, something like $500,000, to get the Kogarah redevelopment off the ground. It was only a small amount but it was enough make the R2K dream a reality.

Both those grounds along with Belmore Sports Ground have been used by Sydney Olympic. Apia use Leichhardt Oval. The Wollongong Wolves used to use WIN Stadium and Parramatta Stadium has hosted NSL grand finals and some Sydney FC Asian Champions league games as well as home games for Parramatta rugby union club and rugby union world cup qualifiers in 1997
Wolves still play at WIN in the state league

not for long they are looking at playing out of cringila oval because win is to expensive.

Isn't there a stadium called John Crehan park in Figtree that has been built up recently. I think they have the grandstand from the old Seagulls Stadium there.
