That banner was GOLD!

I spoke to Linc about that banner (and banners in general) at a Red V event in Brisbane 5ish years ago. He said he thought it was awesome and that the players definitely looked at the banners.

Your "Thommo the new Terminator", Boxa's "Choc full of Magic" and my "Wayne's World" had plenty of airtime.

Would have been nice to see the very end when the team come right up to the fence and go wild, whilst the big jersey is being pulled over the top.

Awesome day that one...........Adam and I went to St. Patties after the Leagues'y and did an all nighter sporting our grand finalist T-shirts

I went to school with Tony Priddle / Brownie and Cecil Heron (Maclean High School Northern NSW). They all played in the Schools' Commonwealth Bank Cup team that made it to the Semis - not a bad effort for a small country school. Brownies old man was a Country RL selector and he got them the trial with St George!

My twin bother Terry played hooker with Priddle as one of the Props. Brownie was half back and Cec was 5/8. Priddle was a big unit for a school kid (about 6' 4" - 190cm), when they went to pack the scrum my brother used to hang about a foot off the ground!

I've had a number of large flags over the years and my banners in the past were:

"Riddell me this, Riddell me that"
"Great Bails of Fire!"
"Coops, There it is"
"Chase's War On Everything"

Now I just wear the "Sir Wayne" hat!

I used the Riddell banner as a drop-sheet when I painted some of the house a few years back. Worked heaps better than newspaper.

That "Awesome Ainscough" Ray was one of GST's that George brought along for some nostalgia!
