Grand Final horror stories ...

The Sattler moment is a 'magic moment' for Penrith fans. Alot of these horror stories are magic moments from the other team's point of view.

You could say that Canberra's 'short kick off gone wrong' plucked out of the air by Geyer and offloaded to Roycey for the winning try back in 1991 was a horror story for Canberra.

97 - McDougall stomping on Toovey's head.

96 - Ridge getting away with a play on after he was tackled.

86 - Sigsworths send off after almost decapitating Kenny.

99 had multiple - Melbourne's first try off a massive forward pass, Mundine being stripped over the line instead of passing it to one of his unmarked support players, Wishart dropping the kickoff after the McGregor try, and obviously Ainscough's tackle on Craig "who?" Smith.

pfft forward my arse.

Watch the blimp footage taken from directly above the spot..it went backwards.
I used to think it was a mile forward until I saw that footage.

Mundine blew it that day..dropped it cold being a hog.

here is the footage of that pass.

1993 was farked for me as soon as Jason Stevens went off the field with his thumb nearly severed.

1996 - from having no coach, and about 4 or 5 players signed in February, we made the big one against all the odds. Then along came the Manson/Ridge tag team.

It wasn't a match-loser but Brett Finch's field goal made me LOL in hindsight in 2004.

I think it was.

Kicking a field goal in the 1st half is such a negative play, and rarely if ever comes off. Similar to kicking a field goal 20+ minutes out from fulltime.

The real killer for any roosters fan that day though was good old hegarty applauding Haz's try.

All the f**ker had to do was jump on top and he is held up. So happy when he left

2004 - The Bulldogs being allowed to play with a cut price illegal roster.
2003 - Cayless not taking the penalty.
2002 - Fittler not winning the Churchill Medal.
2000 - Luke Phillips' effort didn't win the game because he deserved it.

A lot of bad stories but a little known one that annoys me:

1909 - Balmain scum not even bothering to show up on GF day.

A lot of those other stories are bad but imagine one team not showing up, so the superior team doesn't even get the opportunity to destroy them on the field.

Bloody hell - my memory is playing games with me. I could have sworn some part of Robbie Ross' anatomy had knocked the ball out (accidentally, so strip wasn't the right word).

Harrigans penalty against Wayne Pearce
Junior dropping the ball cold
Balmain's last line of defence on the left hadn side which jackson ran at included known defensive pissants Freeman and Pobjie, throw in the tough but scrawny Neil and the 'defensive' player Hardwick who turned up and did f**k all to prevent that try.
Benny's f**king field goal

Terry Lamb's dog act on Hanley
