Nah man so it's up to you to enlighten me. Johnson bowled short all night and was easily dispatched and bowled 5 or 6 wides, Siddle was short and Watson was useless aswell. The slow bowlers, Doherty picks up 4 wickets, Clarke goes for 2 runs off 1 over and Smith goes for 7 or 8 off 3. We had them 8 down for a little over 100 then brought those three pie chuckers on who bowled short and made life easy for the batsman.

Watson, Johnson and Siddle were pathetic tonight yes. Siddle shouldn't get a game in the Ashes and Watson and Johnson are much better bowlers at test level. I can't see the poms getting given the ashes on a silver platter by Watson or Johnson. If anything they are our most important players in the series.

Clarke's captaincy was bad. So was Ponting in India but that was very, very bad. Clarke was shown up big time tonight.

His bowlers were absolutely awful though. What the f**k was Siddle doing.

Siddle has a thing called Victorianitis, it makes it hard for him to bowl anything but half trackers or juicy half volleys

I agree with Beads regarding Watson and Johnson. But its disappointing that they cant bowl yorkers. What happened to Nathan Bracken? Did he have a forced retirement or something?

The only clueless one is you. Ponting was nowhere to be seen yet that was australia's biggest choke ever. Prove positive that the problem is not the captaincy.
This is Pontings team, he might not have been there tonight but his grubby fingerprints are all over this performance. The bowlers don't even seem to be bowling with a plan, just throw it down and hope for the best. The whole set up of Australian cricket needs a shake up. Starting with Sutherland,The selectors and coach. Ponting is lucky there is no one else capable of doing the job otherwise he should be arseholed as well.

That was bad. Still hope for Australia but your bowlers need an absolute shollacking. And Brett Lee and Ryan Harris are a must. They are more accurate. Lee with 2 yorkers could have finished the game in the 30th over.. Gee its a long way to the 4th world cup.???

Lee is our best one day cricket bowler by far. Unbelievable someone like Peter sh*ttle gets selected over Lee. Harris and bollinger must also play.

sh*tchell Johnson is the common element in every aussie choke in recent yrs. He is too expensive in ODI's.

I dont think Clarkey did much wrong, he wasn't the one bowling the short sh*t all night.

He mixed the bowlers up, not much more he could have done with that rabble.

field placing a bit iffy and not bringing himself on way earlier

Very negative field considering the run rate would never be an issue. Yes the bowlers were spraying it everywhere but if Ponting had set that field he would be rightfully bashed. Clarke needed to take wickets.

Watson's batting is not under scrutiny but his pies won't be a make or break for us either and Johnson's bowling will determine our fate for the mere fact that he might just carved up big time like he did over there. I thought after his series in South Africa he was going to explode in to the hype surrounding him but he's back to bowling pies. Bollinger and Hilfenhaus are really going to have to carry the attack if they play much at all.

They are our "most important players" because their sh*t might just cost us.

At least Hauritz wasnt there. Clarke underates himself as a bowler. From this side
of the Tasman Peter Siddle looks like half the problem. All huff and puff and no line and length. Should be nowhere near the Ashes side. Harris does that job sooo much better.

Be rational mate, everything is Ponting's fault or Hussey's or maybe even North's fault.

The quicks are just so one dimensional. It's all high speed, straight up, too short, come on to the bat nicely stuff. We really need to get a good line and length bowler into the side and a proper seamer or a proper swing bowler who can get the ball moving on even the most neutral pitches. And someone with a good change of pace. Once you get your eye in, as the Sri Lankan boys did, bowlers who come straight on are easy pickings. Bring in Peter George for line and length, Hilfenhaus and McKay.

Watson has bowled pretty well in test cricket of late, do you even watch or do you just guess?? Johnson always bowls better on Aussie wickets he will be the leading wicket taker this series...

Wake up dickhead, it is Ponting fault we are in this mess. sh*ttle,Haurie,North,Hussey,sh*tchell are all his pets and no matter what continue to be picked. Neilsen is a Nuffy yes man who does whatever Ponting wants. If you think any differently you are kidding yourself. Our bowlers continue to bowl without plans, negative field placings and a lack of ideas under pressure has been happening for the last 2 or 3 years. Young players continue to be overlooked for good blokes who are married and get on with the group(ie suck up). The results are there for all to see.
