DKOR and Big Mick went off early... Apparently Richo met him last week... Gee, wish I'd said that.

Apparently Anthony Mundine is involved in this too. F me, if this happens am I going to have to start liking him?

IT'S potentially one of the biggest signings in rugby league history - a Hollywood superstar and a boxing champion using all their persuasive power to lure Greg Inglis to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Crowe could not be contacted yesterday because he is overseas promoting his next movie but he has been hammering CEO Shane Richardson with daily emails, phone calls and text messages trying to get the deal over the line.

Richardson is normally happy to discuss anything about the Rabbitohs but not in this case. "I have no comment to make," he says to the first three questions
Crowe has been trying to get Inglis to Souths for a while. They had spoken on several occasions long before the Storm salary cap crisis. Mundine is also regularly in contact with Inglis and was advising him when Andrew Johns referred to him as a "black c ... " in a Blues bonding session.
Inglis' manager Alan Gainey was also reluctant to comment when asked about the prospect of his blue-ribbon player wearing the red and green jersey.
"I suppose you could say it's 50-50 at the moment," Gainey said, "He admires Anthony Mundine, he's been speaking to him a lot, and Souths have seen a loophole because of the problems of getting a release from Storm."
(that's the most important bit IMO, his manager confirming it's an option).
Both clubs (Melbourne and Brisbane) are refusing to pay because it would be included as part of their 2011 salary caps. Storm CEO Ron Gauci says he is happy to release Inglis to Souths.
"We released him on compassionate grounds to go to Brisbane but Souths is fine by us as long as the legal bill gets paid," he said.

It looks like the only way his bills get paid is if he goes to Souths, because both Melbourne and Brisbane are refusing to pay up.

or he could do something crazy and pay it himself ;-)

:thumb Agreed, I dont understand why this prick thinks he doesnt have to pay his own bills.

Just like the Broncos are upset they may lose out on a good faith deal, Inglis had a deal in good faith that the Storm would pay his bills. They stabbed him in the back as soon as he left, and if Crowe is willing to pay his bills for him then why would he.

Well when you haven't made any buys just for the sake of making buys all year, plus being smart enough not to back end any contracts so you can take advantage of the salary cap increase then you can do these kinds of things. Don't hate us for running our club well.

Your club has confirmed they back loaded Burgess contract....

But I hope Souths get him- The NRL should be supporting an aboriginal super star moving to represent that area.

I ment net backending. You can afford to backend one contract if you balance it out with other guys going off contract, or resigning guys for less (which we did with Ross and Wesser), it still acheives the same effect of giving you the ability to take advantage of the cap increase.

Ig he goes to Souths then it proves what a farce our rules are

What rules? Until Melbourne releases him he isn't a part of any other team, no matter how signed sealed and delivered it look beforehand. Souths haven't done anything wrong.

Thats the thing this wad only has to pay about 30k the rest has been paid, and still refuses to pay,

I don't think that's right. From what I've heard he's willing to pay 60k (or roughly half) but the Storm insist on him paying every cent because they are right on the salary cap limit, they can't afford to pay any of the bill.

Inglis to the Raiders, now that they will free up cash

for that to happen 3 things need to occour very quickly...

* GI needs to be available.

* Monas needs to get sacked as early as Monday.

* Orford needs to decide as early as Monday that he's signing with Parra.
