That's just gold coming from a Souths supporter.

What about the half of your fan base living on government handouts?

Can we send them to Cuba...

Great call. I was thinking the same thing myself. Most Souths fans are still in mourning that the Workers party got the axe on Saturday.

Well I live in QLD and don't like watching any of the QLD teams play, so I kind of find it annoying that I have to sit through a Broncos game every Friday night just to see the game I want to see. I sincerely hope channel 9 lose the tv rights and quick

That would be seriously annoying. Not to mention there are many Broncos fans south of the border. Consider their situation; they would very rarely get to see their team play live, as 90% of the time they are the 9.30pm Friday night game on delay. Watching a game that you know is already over is never as exciting as live.

Furthermore it's a HUGE advantage to the Bronocs to have a regular 7 day break between games. Enables a regimented process to take place with recovery, video sessions and preparing for the next game. All other 15 teams have to battle with turn arounds of 5 days, followed by 9 days, followed by 6 days, etc.

It's time things changed.

Broncos are on for the fourth night in a row on Friday night. If we have to have a Qld team can't we share it around. All 3 Qld teams are playing like busted rses at the moment.

No offense but who wants to watch manly vs souths in queensland first? only a small majority, if you don't like it move to NSW, you'll get your favourite game every week, when i used to live in Sydney i didn't come on here whinging about how broncos are always on delay blah blah blah

I live in QLD too and as a non bronco supporter would be much more inclined to go to a Saturday or Sunday game. I do get sick of seeing them on Friday nights on the tele.

Wouldnt it be more fair to have each team have
6 Fri night games
9 Saturday games
6 Sunday games
3 Monday games

it would not be that hard at the begining of the season to do up a schedule and work to these guidlines. Every team would have the exact same ammount of exposure and would be able to play all timeslots

Splitting it evenly would be the fair thing to do...but it would be enormously stupid. The world isn't fair, there are some teams people simply don't want to watch. The ratings would go downhill, our tv rights deal would be dramatically impacted.

2010: The Dragons got about 5 Friday night games and got the highest rates for Friday night games.
But a few other clubs got thier noses out of joint and now in 2011 you are stuck with watching Parra, Penrith, cronulla, QLD teams....very low rating team ...but the clubs are happy with the extra FTA exposure and more cash and the fans are dying a slow death.....such is life, you can't have everything.

I just wish 9 offered the alternative game on their digital channel.
No arguments there. Painfully frustrating how stupid they are. Instead of putting their digital channel to good use with some elite sport they show some ancient rerun for the 1000th time.

To be fair, that's not the reason the Dragons aren't showing on Friday nights .. it's because of our hectic early season schedule with the England trip and all the away games which meant the club requested long turnarounds between matches ... so we have Sat (GC) -> Mon (Syd) -> Sun (NZ) -> Sun (Newc) -> Sun (Syd) -> Mon (Syd) -> Mon (Syd) -> Sun (Syd) -> Sun (Syd)

We had a 6 day turnaround from R2 -> R3 (Sydney to NZ), and will have one from R7 -> R8 (both in Sydney) .. all other matches have been either 7 or 8 day turnarounds.

Once we have settled into a rhythm and have more home games, Dragons will probably be on FNF at least every second week from Round 12 (the week after our bye, so a 2 week turnaround) to the end of the season.

We could legitimately have 5 straight games on FNF after that:

R12: vs Tigers @ Kogarah
R13: vs Eels @ Parra
R14: vs Titans @ Kogarah (if Titans improve in the coming weeks)
R15: vs Broncos @ Suncorp
R16: vs Sea Eagles @ W'gong (but prob a Sat/Sun game)

If the Eels keep heading the way they are (and they will) there's no chance your R13 will be a FNF.

I think Souths v Storm will get the FNF that week. But I could see you getting 12 and 15 and possibly 14.

Yeh it isnt fair we all have to listern to morons like yourself.

Teams people dont like to watch...... Yeh souffs
5 of the first 8. Channel 9 obviously disagrees. Having the 2nd best attack and 2nd worst defense so far means lots of tries in our games (which channel 9 likes) and the first 2 weeks we had 2 nailbiters in a row (channel 9 also likes this).

Because of that I expect us to get regular FNF games.

As well as rd 1,3,4,5 and 8 that we've got already I'm confident we have a good chance of getting 10,13(15 if the Titans wake up)16,19,21 and 25.

So are Souths still certainties for the top 4 and this year's premiership?

I wish the Broncos didn't play every Friday night so I could take my kids to more of their games.

Nothing I've seen in the first 3 weeks has made me think that won't happen. 12 minutes away from 3-0 tells me we're good enough to beat anybody. And we've done that without our best forward and one of our top 2 best players.

Taylor and Inglis have arrived. They're fitness has looked much improved with each game (Taylor played 77 mins last week and is about to be back to an 80 minute player, something that's a huge asset from someone like him). Sandow and Sutton have shown they're capable of doing the right thing (next step is to do it two games in a row). Asotasi IMO is playing the best he's played in a couple years. Wesser showed he still has life left in his old legs. Crocker likewise.

If Burgess and Luke are back at full strength for Friday we're going to make it 2 wins in a row to make up for the 2 losses and be on our way to that top 4 spot.

The fact that it's so hard to pick this year with so many even teams means a slow start is a lot less punishing than it might have otherwise been. We win this week and we could be as little as 1 win away from the top of the ladder.
