Would be friggin hilarious if Parra or Penrith managed to sign him up if things aren't working out so well for him this year. Then he really would be the biggest signing in Western Sydney.

Parra got a bit of dosh to spend don't they?

Yep. Id have him.

it will probably be worse with Folau seeing the Storm trainers said he had the worst fuel tank at the club and was only good for small bursts

a large part of why they were picked by the AFL was because of their race to try and attract islanders

To me Folau came off as a back-up plan after Hayne re-signed with Parra.

yeah, I agree with that, Hayne was the primary target, Folau was a secondary choice.

A lot of butthurt people here because they picked up contracts worth 2 to 3 times more than what they were on in RL.

They'd be absolute morons not to take it. I'm sure the idiots here crying would straight away leave their job to another earning 3 times more than what they are on.

Couldn't care less if they stay in the AFL or come back. If they return I'll happily have them back at the Broncos, if they resign after this contract ends in the AFL then they must be doing alright.

Hayne knocked the AFL back and he wouldn’t have been the only one. Some people have a spine, some don’t.

Neither hunt or izzy did anything wrong by joining the afl.. Who would knock back that type of money.

I know of a current nrl star who knocked back a 5k offer to supply a paragraph stating how awwsome Fiji is. This player wanted 10k to write this paragraph.

Everyone including athletes chase the big dollars. I know I have.

No one cares that they went to the AFL for the money as everyone one of us would gladly take it. But that's the whole point, instead of talking crap, why not come out and say......

I'd be a f**king idiot not to take the money, if the NRL offered me that much, I would have stayed.

Instead, we get the old, I'm doing it for a challenge bullsh*t.

When Izzy stated at the All Stars fan day last year that he hoped the AFL would get big in Western Sydney just for a bit of a change, you know he had been poached already.

Yeah but if you were going to a new job, you dont come out and say you went there just for the money. You sprout some crap about looking for a better opportunity or a challange, etc etc.

I went to a job interview recently and was asked "why do you want to work in this industry?" I could have said the dead honest truth and said "better hours, better money", but that probably wouldn't have put me in a good light for my new employers. Instead I said "its a good challenge and a great opportunity for me. I got the job.

Not really a big difference. He's working in a team environment still. It would be unworkable if he said to his new team mates "yeah guys im only here for the dosh, I dont particularly care whats going on."

I would be happy to have them back in league. Just make sure they bank their millions first. In other words no paying AFL to get out of contracts.

I'd be all for the ARL making a rule whereby if you defect to a rival code, you will not be able to get another contract registered with the NRL or NZRL (for the Warriors).

I reckon a western Sydney team will eventually pick him up. Probably Parramatta Eels, with an aging squad they'll have some $$ in the coming seasons to really throw a bagfull @ either Quade Cooper or Israel Folau in 2013. I'd say the Bulldogs & Wests Tigers would probably be keeping a close eye on him as his AFL contract expiry date approaches in the next year or so.

1. Thats a restraint of trade on clubs.
2. The Warriors contracts are registered with the NRL....thus they play in the NRL.....

I can understand League fans are harsh on Hunt and Folau, but honestly, how can you blame them for taking offers like that? Folau said it himself, how can you turn down that much money? If you were in their position I can understand that most of you would have taken the money too.

Still, it's his own bloody fault, and Hunt's, that they fail. Good work AFL, you signed two players on big bucks who are absolutely useless in your code, and will just create more schisms that see people laughing at you and your code.

No doubt if Folau wants to come back the Eels would be very interested, they signed his younger brother (for example) and are missing a quality outside back. But then, a whole host of other teams would be interested too! Knights, Titans, Broncos, Storm (maybe), etc.
