Actually it is correct. Hayne said he had not been approached and the AFL said they had no interest in him, they couldn't even spell his name right which showed how much they cared about him. No surprises on the day of his signing that he claims "interest", nice marketing move to try and give the NRL some credit.

the AFL have always denied meetings etc etc

they keep it out of the press to maximize the announcement

numerous news reporters at the time had receiived info of an aproach hence the denials

if they had went public with the offer they would look bad when he knocked it back to stay for less

Agreed, I can cop union converts coming back as they were poached to actually play well and suceed in the code. cutie and Folau were poached to be human advertising campaigns designed to hurt the code that made them stars.

The NRL should make a rule that if you're stupid enough to jump ship to the AFL you can never come back. I can't see it being much of a problem in the future though if these two continue to be the laughing stock of that game.

Every player has their price and will switch to afl if offered enough the are set for life

IMO he should never be allowed to play rugby league in this country again. He allowed himself to be used as a marketing pawn to promote a rival code in leagues heartland, which gave them exposure they would never otherwise have. My gut feeling though, much to my dislike is he will play a bit part in the opening season of GWS then stew in the reserves and return to the NRL, if not then onion

AFL convert Israel Folau is supposed to have told friends that the coaches in his new code ''don't want me doing the things I am good at''. Some in league circles believe that is because the AFL bosses paying him and Karmichael Hunt to generate publicity for the code don't want them knocking their stars around.

He scored 37 tries in 38 games for us. That is pretty valuable.
And since he plays centre and never passes the ball, you can save some money and buy any old winger.
