How was this funny when Hagan said it but not funny when Kearney says it?

What's funny is watching him being a part of Queensland's origin dominance and I bet it's also funny for him that his premiership win was over us in 2001.

I hope for Kearney's sake that he starts producing some results soon, the eels coaching turnstile doesn't stay closed forever.

I didn't think it was funny when Hagan said it. In fact I still don't understand why people find it so funny.

It seems a fairly standard response to the question of how close a group is to achieving group performance goals.

I think we're being pretty realistic for the squad we have.

We definitely should be aiming higher next year for the recruiting we've already done but this year we should be happy with anything better than complete shite.

its funny that now its a rebuilding year. at the start the board said it wasnt

Nobody thought it was going to be a rebuilding year until Tahu and Grothe left and we started going so crap.

Look back and read some threads about how we were going to go this year. Nobody predicted just how bad we are.

I reckon with the recruiting we've already done we can expect top 8 next year.

I don't know about that. Sandow is a terrific recruit. Roberts a so-so one but definately an improvement in what we have. Esi Tonga goes alright I guess but hardly a great signing. We still need to recruit in the backrow and outside backs, and sort out what we do with the number 9 jersey.

Sandow is a terrific recruit.

This alone will make us twice the team we currently are.

Add to that Poore to come back, Maitua to claw his way back to full strength, and the solid first graders we've already signed and we're a good chance.

But just Sandow's inclusion will double Hayne's impact. I can't wait.

At this stage we only have Keating on contract for next year. Ideally you want to have two specialist hookers in your top 25 and another utility who can play there if needed. So it will be interesting to see what Kearney's plans are there.
