While Kearney has had a bludger of a season with the Eels...

He has a massive conundrum at rep level...

His choice for Kiwis fullback is between probably the best young fullbacks(apart from dugan) in the game in Kevin Locke and Josh Hoffman.

Who would you guys go with??

Locke impresses me more of the two.

What about his halves conundrum in the next few years, with Benji, Foran and if he continues to improve Johnson

after last weekends game at suncorp i had Locke just shading Hoffman...

but after tonight... the tables may have turned...

hopefully it pushes Locke to a big performance against the Knights.

Hoffman is a much better player than Locke at the moment imo. Thats not to say in future Locke wont be better, but at the moment Hoffmnans ball playing is levels above what Locke offers.

Itll be good to see the Kiwis get some decent depth in the key positions, something they have lacked over recent years. Its certainly a headache Kearney would welcome.

When this thread was moved I thought for a second that Moderators had decided to do so after the appearance of the first redneck. Not so apparently . . . pity.
I'm with you POPEYE. Poupou shouldn't be allowed to make a self depreciating and humorous joke about a topic that was first raised almost a year again, not without your permission anyway.

Hoffman is a bit more robust than Locke, not tougher just more robust, so I'd give the nod to him. Nothing worse than a fullback being monstered and losing all momentum on kick returns. Hoffman, Nightingale and Vatuvei FTW with Locke biding his time for a little longer.

I'd go for Locke, he has got that x factor, plus he is actually a kiwi! ;-)

Yep, Hoffman. Locke has the potential but right now, he's been doing it for about 6 weeks (probably longer but I can't remember when exactly Cleary shifted him to fullback). Hoffman killed it all of last season, missed a lot of games through injury this year and hasn't missed a step.

Hoffman, he'll want to lock him into the Kiwis before cousin Wendell can talk him into the Maroons.
Oh, and he is in great form.
