Thoughts on Feleti Mateo? Coming off the bench he could really add a lot of spark to our side. Makes mistakes but creates as many opportunities, killing it for the Warriors this year. He could be utilised well.

In the starting side - no. But playing 10-30 minutes I think he has something to offer our side.

Good idea ......... I think NSW could do with another half a game nuffie to add to their playing ranks

What has Bird every done in origin too suggest he has ever let NSW down? He breaks the line, makes metres, try assists, can score (and has), tackles well (in origin, not so much for Titans). The others I can agree on but not Bird.

Also lol at suggesting Gallen is bad, if you are referring to his penalty count, it is way down (has been for a year and abit), thanks for coming.

Although I do hope we do not underestimate QLD next year because Lockyer is out, but I don't think we will. Even though Cronk is a great player, losing Lockyer only worsens the team, not strengthens it.

Well said. Bird was one of our better performers this year and always steps up at Origin and Gallens OriginII performance says otherwise and he was still consistent in GameI and GameIII.

QLD had allot to ride on this year with the Lockyer emotion and on the back of each half in GameIII we started building momentum you can't deny that but it was little to late in that sense with our weakened defense leading to the 34-24 romp.

Both teams will be stronger next year and QLD have some good talent emerging in DCE, Barba and a few others but so do we as well. All I say is see you next year and we will see how it goes. Out debut boys have had a taste of the Origin stage now and it will be different come next year minus Lockyer.

Any of that lot or Stuart are welcome selections from the way I see it.They prevent someone more talented from holding that spot. This is where imitation of QLD's stablity becomes the rope by which NSW will hang themselves.Sticking with a bunch of guys who really aren't up to their competition, just for the sake of sticking with them,is not a recipe for success. It's madness.

Stuart will undoubtedly be pushing for Hayne as 5/8th.Dugan will be fullback.Because he deserves to be?Nope.Just for the sake of sticking with him.The second Stuart era will be viewed by history as a clusterf*ck and most of his key choices will never be selected for the Blues again when it is obvious how costly their selection is.

Fate has smiled upon QLD,courtesy of Mr Ricky Stuart. What can I say?I love the guy.

Hayne won't be 5/8 next year for the blues. He will remain on the wing or in the centres.
I do think though that Sticky will stick with Creagh and Morris. Morris is definitely helping us lose games, but I do feel Creagh does receive a lot of shit he doesn't deserve. He is a good player, but there are just better, tougher back rowers out there that deserve their spot over him.

NSW 2012:

Gidley,Pearce,Gallen,Bird,Ennis will all make the Blues side.Stuart the coach.

QLD the victors as long as this recipe is followed.None of the Blues players I've just named are poor players. They are all however more than a notch below their prospective QLD opposition in raw talent. No amount of 'mongrel' or 'Origin Attitude' those individuals can bring to the arena can bridge the talent chasm that divides the NSW key players from the understanding and resolve that the QLD squad have established and are increasingly fortifying.

Game 3 this year showed that QLD are not letting-up.They are going into next year with a barnstorming Series winning game to buoy their confidence. This is no time to squander the momentum,it's time to put the foot-down.QLD'll come out-of the blocks next year, eager to taste Series victory. There is a whole range of players in the QLD emerging Origin Squad who are eager to bust their way into the team. They've been training together for the past few years.Learning the plays and the strategies that the Main Squad learn so that they can slot-in at a moment's notice, and perform.

Don't think that this QLD team is going to be decimated when this present roster retires( many years off). The next lot coming through for QLD have raw talent to burn.

Bring on the 'mongrel' and the stupid mind-games.It's a distraction from the task at hand and a waste of energy.Keep listening to twits like Raudonikas. The ill-disciplined boofheads with 'attitude' on the Blues side are handing the games to QLD on a platter. They are the equivalent of of mindless brat with a box of matches standing next to someone pouring petrol. They know they shouldn't do it, but they just can't help themselves(with disasterous consequences for NSW).

NSW are their own worst enemy and the best guarantee that QLD will win perhaps another 2 in a row.I'm barracking for Gidley,Pearce,Gallen,Bird and Ennis( and Stuart as coach/selector) to be made permanent Blues selections for as long as they want to do it.Why would I want to NSW to stop losing just yet? They do a great job of humiliating themselves.I wish it could go on forever. :)

You are a dead set dribbler

Those guys were all members of the Game 1 side which came within a whisper of beating the Maroons and the Game 2 side which did win.

Stop kidding yourself, the Blues are not so far behind the Maroons at all and those guys, baring Ennis, deserve to be in the side that wins our 1st series in 6 years.

+1. Agree 100% here. Bird and Gallen were top notch all series and Gallen was worth recipient of the RLPA Rep Player of the year. Some QLD'er was dribbling on today saying "He didn't deserve it he only played OriginII". He was great all series + the ANZAC test. QLD can dominate the AUS side no problem but Gallen will always slot in there and he is still one of the best players around. He's made for Origin and he's not as much of a "grub" as he used to be. He's taken allot of the shit out of his game and personally I very much like his playing style and think he deserves the captaincy he plays with his heart and has passion.

Bird is just a whole round solid player and always stands up at Origin level. He did good to set up Pearce in OriginI and was great in OriginII and good in Origin III. Pearce I was impressed with I must admit.

Ennis can go though. Put Farah in and get some speed and spark going around the ruck with players like Watmough, Lewis and the likes and we will be allot stronger next year. I think next year will be more an emotional battle for QLD to "Do it without Lockyer". We will be a whole lot stronger and the skill gap is definitely closing.

I'm already excited for Origin 2012. Yes we have not seen a series win in seven years (I was a kid at the time lol). I still have passion and pride for my state.

 ......you obviously need to watch game 3

Aye.The Blues were blown off the park.Completely overwhelmed.Game 3 was the game where according to Stuart, the Blues were not going to send Lockyer out a winner.Where Bird said "This is about us."

HAH!!! As if.

When it really counted. When the series was there to be won. When it was time to put-up or to shut-up,the Blues folded-up their tent and conceded the match.

Not challenged.Not contested.Conceded.

The Blues are stuck with a non-competitive playing roster and the guys I named are the main problem.I'm glad that the Blues fans seem to think that they are The Real Thing.QLD will keep pulling your pants down for a couple of years yet.

NSW are not competitive with the QLD team.

All of those guys were part of the Blues teams which lost a cleansweep last year, and lost the series this year. They win one game out of the last six and that makes them competitive?

Wake up.

One more thing:

Stuart's selection of Minichello was utter lunacy.Supposedly Mini 'phoned Stuart and told him that he was the man that the Blues were looking-for.Stuart selected Mini based on his respect for Mini as a person and a player.

It was a crucial error which contributed to the NSW loss.It was not the only questionable selection decision that Stuart had made during the 3 game series. Now that the series is over and the dust has settled,it should be obvious that Stuart's selection blunders are NOT going to go away.Prior to Game 1 this year,Stuart stated that only 2 individuals were guaranteed selection;Gidley and Gallen.

They are two of the least competitive possible choices in terms of talent vis a vis the QLDers that could have been chosen. Both have bags of Grit,Courage,Determination and Resolve, what they lack at Origin level is the ability to match the QLDers for sheer talent. They are a couple of talent notches below, even with all their other positive attributes. All of those other positive qualities are insufficient to bridge the talent gap.

That has to be understood. They are the most sincerely attempting losers that anyone could find. They are giving MORE than their best when they play. The problem is that their best simply isn't good enough. The same applies to all the other individuals I named.Bags of 'attitude' and just not quite enough talent.

This is the 'core' that Stuart wants to build a team around. All I can say is,if the talent isn't quite enough it is like a belt which is just a bit too short for one end to join the other as it passes around your waist:Your pants are coming down.

Bring on 2012. :D

Stay in your perpetual state of denial all you want champ

Game 3 was too big an occasion at that point, no doubt. Given it was Lockyers last game and the NSW team had only just found their belief after 6 years of mismanagement, the Blues were always going to struggle to win in that environment. It was for lack of a better term a "perfect storm" for Qld.

However, next year all that will be past and the NSW team will be better for the experience. What was put in place this year was only a 1st step on the road back for the Blues and you can bet your life the team will make significant improvements. Hell, a 5% improvement this year would have seen us win game 1 and take out the series.

Write the Blues off at your own peril

Edit: Paul Gallen the rep player of the year and only forward within striking distance of the Dally M is not good enough for Origin? lol yes, denial is an appropriate description for you

Clutching a straws. If you are trapped in a sinking car and your nose is "within a whisper" of drawing air,but is still under the water,it's little consolation.

They point is they lost. The point is that they didn't have what it takes to beat the QLDers. The point is that as long as people keep making excuses for them no progress can be made towards doing something about it.

If you want to keep losing, keep selecting those guys.

We've been hearing 'next year' for six years now. That's what you will be saying after 2012 also.Keep selecting those guys.

Believe what you want

Im going to let the footy do the talking and stop wasting my keystrokes on the likes of you

I look forward to the fall of the Maroons in 2012. It will be sweet not having to read your dribble when you go missing.

.....let the footy do the talking........

Well considering that the last six years has been all about that,I have to ask:Are you listening?

You were one of the many talking-up the Blues squad prior to Game 3,now after the game is over you are saying that there are all these reasons why NSW would be disadvantaged in that game.

The two opposite stances cannot be reconciled.Either NSW are competitive under any circumstance,or we "let the footy do the talking" and acknowledge that they aren't.They got blown-away in Game 3.Trounced.Humiliated.According to punters such as yourself prior to the game, the Blues were going to be triumphant(and all of those factors that you quoted as influential against a Blues victory were acknowledged as applying). No excuses were being made then.

"let the footy do the talking"

NSW have surrendered the last six series.Not challenged.Not contested.No going-out with a Bang.Just a whimper.

It'll get worse under Stuart.

You know the funny thing? I'd like to see you guys if the situation was the other way around. That would be interesting to see would it not? Just speaking hypothetically so dont give me "It will never happen we are QLD" dribble. And see how you react to the situation.

Speaking fairly both teams have players of competitive nature and skill some better then others you can not admit that QLD 17 dominate us in every position possible because that ain't even remotely true. The gap is closing between the two teams and 2012 will be better for both of us; blues will be more experienced and Maroons and will be riding a wave of confidence after your "Double Turkey streak".

Exactly mate

We take the attitude that we are able to beat them and they bleat on about how we're deluding ourselves.

We say we are shit and can never beat the Qlders and they say we have no passion or faith blah blah blah

f**k them and their arrogance. I for one am a believer and living up here amongst the bullshit only makes my resolve stronger. All of the crap monkeys like the above Qld posters spew around here will only make our victory the sweeter.

Read between the lines of what I am saying:You guys can be competitive.Undoubtedly.Just not with the guys I mentioned.

NSW has some awesome players who ARE talent-wise competitive with the QLD teams.QLD will NOT win forever.QLD are much better chances of winning however when NSW make poor selection choices, choosing players who are NOT competitive talent-wise with the current QLD roster which is what they have been doing for a long time now.

NSW's selections are making the task more unattainable, not less.

An Origin Series is there for NSW.Only after they get rid of the ballast.
