There's are just a couple of emos who peddle the doom and gloom, but if you don't agree with them you are dismissed as thick or have no idea about rugby league. If someone mounts a solid argument against the emos, the response is to ignore the facts, post some half truths and peddle more doom and gloom. It's as if they think crying about it will bring about change (whatever that change may be because emos are always light on solutions).

There's one real fact here: Bennett is gone. IMO, the emos have trouble accepting this. We now have have a different coach in Steve Price and therefore a different approach to recruitment. Despite his age and having never been tested in Sydney, we gave Bennett the benefit of the doubt. I'm giving Price every chance to deliver the goods - and will be reserving my opinion on his performance at a later date. So yeah, I must know nothing about rugby league too.

At least I am not alone in knowing nothing about the game then...

And what a revelation.....a club with a new coach AND a turnover of playing personnel. If I knew something about the game, I would probably think that was the norm.

With success it is inevitable that players will be squeezed out, player values go up etc etc. You then go through a rebuilding phase and you may still have the core of the team there, this does not mean that you cannot win it though but it makes it more difficult, it is the nature of the beast. Last time I checked we still had a pretty awesome squad for 2012 and it is not finalised yet.

I tell you again, so hopefully it sinks in this time. He was a fringe 1st grader, a fill in signing, much like the guys Pricey has recruited for next year. Not a brilliant recruitment chioce at the time....which some people are crying out for now. Never was a superstar, but capable of doing a job....again, much ;like some Pricey has recruited. My point is, why say the recruitment choices for 2012 are poor compared to Bennetts recruiting over the last 3 years. Yes, we don't have a Boyd coming.....but why write these new recruits off before giving them their opportunity? Whose to say Miller won't do the same thing Emmett did during his first 2 years....and hence, turn into a decent signing.

And I'll also state it again, Bennett's skill set, reputation and respect allows him to get the best out of players hence getting more out of an ordinary recruitment drive. Bellamy is another who can do this. Not many can though so Pricey has some work to do. I do acknowledge that it would be unfair to judge him now though. After all performance reviews are done at season end

However, I observe that we have over recruited the bench and under recruited the backs. The Moltzen thing is a unforeseen set back that you certainly can't blame Price for and he still has some time to rectify our depth in the backs. Surely you agree we still need to recruit a back or two, right?

Of course. The Moltzen issue through a spanner into the works, and can hardly blame our team for that. If none of this blew up recently, I would have been happy with our cover in the backs, with possibly one more fringe back as well. I still reckon our recruitment for 2012 isn't finished. We have the money, even if Moltzen comes, just can't waste it on the wrong people. There are some who say, the cupboard is bare, no one left to sign.....there are always disgruntled players being released our shopped around mid season. Who is to say we don't pick up another Soward after 2012 has started?

I just don't understand the desire of some to want to shell out half a mill on a superstar signing for our forward pack when we have the guys we already do, and added the new guys we have who should not be written off until give a chance. The guys they are replacing were not superstars.

I have been of the same opinion as Red V and Bring back Choc, I don't understand our recruitment and other teams seems to sign up top class players at will.. For example Tigers have got estimated $1.2 mill with Marshall and Blair alone. Now add Farrar, Lawrenceson, etc. Even Sharks seem to be building nicely. We have lost Smith Costigan, Gaznier, Boyd. ?

Look at the roster and it answers your question you have a team loaded with rep stars and the salary cap only stretches so far your another who fails to see stars just don't move from club to club.

What major star has shifted for next year no one has and don't even dare say Blair what the tigers are paying him is ridiculos they had to off load good players to get this over priced turd.

Smith and Costigan are yesterdays news and Gaz wasn't anywhere as near as good as he once was that leaves Boyd and his form this year was pathetic at best and it was common knowledge he would go he is a merkin.

The recruiting this year was to bolster more than replace especially with a NSW Cup team you need more depth and thats what the Dragons got sure the backs look thin but Gillies and Green are very good young players with potential.

The whole Moltzen fiasco has nothing to do with recruiting its more an attitude problem and Tim has a horrible one.
