I agree with most of the sentiments in this thread, and I'm a tigers fan.
If marshall does one noteworthy thing in a game, he'll be in the headline the next day. But it's really just a sign of how shallow, cheap and shithouse our sports media coverage is. Surely no one in the world actually reads his SMH column??
On the other hand, you can't really complain about having a clean-cut (relatively), well spoken (relatively) and entertaining face for the game. As someone said, its good for sponsors, good for kids and generally good for the broader game... it's just bad for all of us real supporters who actually read the paper and watch the news and have to hear his name every 12 seconds.
