We should be building a team around him but he will be demanding money that we probably can't give him.

The point remains, which club out there will give him the money he demands.

Probably Zero

That's why he will possibly go to AFL or Rugby Union. The GWS option suits his style - $1million + deal, an Australia-wide exposure.

I can see the news article now "I have achieved all I wanted to achieve in League and at Parramatta, this is a great new challenge, etc, etc"

Have always got the sense that Hayne has unlimited abilty, but does not have the footballing attitude of a Billy Slater, D Lockyer or Andrew Johns.

Look how good we play without hayne....... Hayne on one leg puts most our team to shame, we need to keep him at all costs. Not just as a player but in regards to marketing side as well

The same as the great and wonderful amazing Benji Marshall  Honestly some people just have no idea, if we manage to loose a blue chip player like Hayne we may as well give up.

I couldn't agree more. Every other team in the comp always seem to keep their star player but we seem to struggle. Why is that the case ? The only reason would be is that we are paying other under performing players at the club more than they are actually worth.

I have watched the Eels since the mid 1970's and I reckon Hayne would make our greatest ever 13. To lose him would be disappointing to say the least.

Totally agree - for all my worries about his attitude and willingness to stay at Parra, he is an elite and irreplaceable. He has the ability to replicate 2009, and i hope he does so soon.

A lot will hinge on the TV deal IMO, if e can get over 1 Billion than the cap should rise to 6 million. Then the Haynes,Thurstons ETC ETC can be paid arccordingly.

LOL if a player prices himself beyond NRL, then that's his problem. Like SBW, Hayne might end up playing in Japan second divison rugby for Toyota on $2m a year. If that's what "doing the best for his family" means then cool.

That's out of our control. All we can do is offer what a top 5 player is worth and move on if he knocks it back. Life goes on.

If he loves the club like he claims on twitter and in quotes then he will play for us no questions asked if he tries to push for bigger money (I reckon he will so be is 'top dog' again over chris

In 2014 we will have 2 classy players vying for a fullback spot in hayne and hoppa. If hoppa gets the nod would hayne do the best for the team and move positions? Hoppas humility and humbleness is what we need in our players.

I hate to say it but we only have 1, unless you know something we don't about Hayne extending...

Just a hypothetical staggs. If hayne resigns (I don't think he will)

One club that will go all out for him IMO is dragons if they don't have a fully established number 1. Maybe tigers too. I could see many clubs gunning for him. Alot of clubs will love to have a player of his skill at their club

Tigers
Dragons
Souths
Titans (they're still broke an gunning for cronk)
