What games were you watching? He was under extreme pressure in Origin 2 2007 and took a number of tough takes.

Um Pete, that vid is of Brent playing for Australia not Qld.

I simply dont agree that Tate was much chop on the wing for Qld. 2007 was when Tate did this. Ordinary stuff at SOO level

Specify what? That I didnt watch the vid in your post or that I wasnt talking about Tates efforts at Test level on the wing?

If its the vid, well its the only one posted here so that was pretty self explanatory. If its the Aust v Qld part, I did specify in my next post.

The idea was to grubber ahead from inside his 50 with 4 Blues players infront of him and his centre well behind. That was not a good idea mate, comon. It was such a low percentage play and it back fired massively.

Im not discounting the good he did mate, I do rate him as a player but he really hasnt given much to Qld on the wing that you wouldnt expect from a rep winger. The bad plays he made have been awful though and it highlights that he is nowhere near Qlds best choice out there.

Well I wasn't talking exclusively about Origin, hence the video in the first place. I know you didn't watch it, if you did you would have realised it was a solo effort.

I haven't disputed that it was an error but he was kicking for himself with only the winger and fullback in front of him. The idea was fine, it was the execution that let him down.

I don't want Tate on the wing either, maybe 2 knee reconstructions ago but not now. To say he was nothing but ordinary or adequate screams ignorance. Like I said, if that's the case then the likes of Boyd have no business at this level.

You can call my opinion "ignorance" if you want, your call, but I have never liked Tate as a winger and think what he offered back before his recos was nothing special compared to other wingers around him.

Oh and FMD mate, it was pretty clear I was being facetious when I said Id score it even when I hadnt watched the vid (you can thank Optus's mobile network for that) but that try was clearly scored from the centres mate, not the wing (yes, I have watched it now)

Anyway, yes he was on the wing in that game but that try was scored from further infield with players outside of him, hardly a classic wingers try and more of what you'd expect from a centre or fullback.
