Reports are saying Howard will still test the free agency at then end of the 2012-2013 season. looks like Lakers are going all in for this season since most of their players are aging.

Howard was going to enter free agency regardless. From what I've read, if he signs an extension, it can only be for 3 years/$60 mill whereas if he goes into free agency he can sign 5 years/ $ 100 mill.

A source with direct knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com's Marc Stein the Lakers will receive Howard, theDenver Nuggets will acquire Andre Iguodala, the 76ers will receive Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson, and the Magic will getArron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the three teams.

In addition, the Magic will be getting other pieces, including 76ers No. 1 draft pick Moe Harkless, a source told Stein

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8...rd-los-angeles-lakers-four-team-deal-complete

So Lakers get --> Howard

Philly gets --> Bynum, Richardson

Nuggets --> Iguodola

Magic --> Afflalo, Harrington, Vucevic and 3 first rounders (1 from each team)

Another thing I just thought of. How are the Nuggets going to work Chandler, Gallo and Iggy into their rotation?

I guess Iggy at 2, Gallo at 3 and Chandler as a 6th man?

Nash and Jamison were great moves, but to have Howard and keep Gasol? Massive threat now.

Such a dumb move by Orlando. They rejected a better offer from Brooklyn 3 months ago ffs. Complete idiots.

This describes precisely how I feel:
Because he's a phony, you know.
He lied to all of you about "loyalty," last March. Lied. To. You. Looked in the camera and lied to you, whether you live in either Florida or California's Orange County, or you're reading this site from a time zone that has you up at four in the morning. Dwight Howard lied to you on record and in writing, whether you're a fan of the Magic or not, about what he really wanted. He lied to his teammates, he lied to his front office, he lied to the press that had to show up to talk to him in March, and he lied to the children that he couldn't muster up the courage to face at a camp their parents paid money for them to attend.
Overwrought, this? No. For one last time, revisit the nonsense that he's created. Say goodbye to it, as he's off to El Lay, but don't forgive it.
He is a spoiled, immature, brat. And for all the condemnation that LeBron James endured from 2009-11 for his work before and following The Decision, or criticism Kobe Bryant took in during his trade demand waffling in 2007, or criticism any number of NBA stars have received following their destruction of a coach or teammate's career or franchise's decade ? Howard has been worse. You're not reading some in-the-moment hack that forgets that sporting life existed before 2012. It's this bad. Dwight Howard should be ashamed of himself, and yet he's about to receive the greatest reward in his profession.

Are you butthurt that now that the Lakers have the ingredients to beat the Heat now?

Miami's biggest weakness...big man play & great PG play

ADD: Steve Nash & Dwight Howard.

Lakers if everyone stays healthy...will definitely challenge the Heat.

Nash - Mario - NASH WINS
Bryant - Wade - Scratch
Metta - James - Clearly James
Gasol - Haslem - GASOL
Howard - Bosh - Freaking lol...Howard

BENCH:
LAKERS - Blake, Jamison, Hill, Duhon
HEAT - Cole, Allen, Battier, Lewis, Anthony, Miller
Bench advantage to the Heat.

Can't wait for this game next year....gonna be pretty awesome.

Can't believe it's finally official, so pumped and can't wait for the season to start. We've also just added Jodie Meeks on a 2 year deal worth about $3 million to solidify our SG spot on the bench. Our bench isn't the best but it is much improved from last year, I still can't believe all this has happened!!!

Gasol, Kobe, Nash are declining. Artest has declined. Lebron will dissect this defence in June on his way to another Finals MVP.

Gasol-32
Kobe-34 (when the season starts)
Nash-38

The odds of at least one of them blowing a knee between now and June is high.

People that think the Lakers are now better than the Heat STILL underestimate how good Lebron is.

Miami has one ageing key player. The Lakers have 3. The odds of one of them getting a serious injury is much greater.

It's pretty clear at this point the finals will be LA v Miami. Finally we'll get the Lebron v Kobe matchup people have been expecting for 5 years.

Lakers will dominate more in the post now than they ever did with Bynum. Howard is much quicker and more explosive plus you have one the best PG's in the league running the pick and roll. They have the edge over Miami, and most other teams in the league now in that respect.

Nash running the point is the most important element though. His experience on that team will be something special, similar (but even more so) to how important Billups is to LAC.
