Never said automatically, but the fact that both are two of Sydney's bigger clubs and 30k+ should be very achievable, particularly when both are going well (as it happened this year). Wait for the uproar if a game like that sells out at Leichardt when there's a 40k stadium up the road.
That isn't the point. As has been pointed out, most of the recent crowds they've pulled v the Dogs wouldn't have filled Leichhardt.
But to never have played them at Leichhardt is ridiculous.
How much would Melbourne/Cowboys/Titans draw at the SFS?
Who cares?
I'm sure that people who go to Leichhardt would prefer to see the Dogs than the Storm and I'm even more sure that the people who go to Campbelltown would prefer to see Manly or Souths than any of those 3 teams.
It wasn't the fans that decided to have 3 home grounds but they're the one's suffering because of that decision.
Campbelltown is another matter. That venue definitely deserves a more even spread of games. Gan see the logic of Penrith getting regular games but Manly never playing there is particularly stupid given the history between the clubs.
Penrith don't draw dick to Campbelltown, some of the Tigers worst crowds there are v Penrith. Ask anyone who is a regular at Campbelltown and they'll probably say that Canberra are the team the Wests Tigers have a "rivalry" with.
You're spot on about Manly, the Wests v Manly thing had been going since the 1970's so for them to never have played a game against Manly at Campbelltown is particularly galling.
