I don't want to sound like that f**kwit DoggiesBro but I doubt he would be on more than minimum wage if he is even in the top 25. Can't see him playing first grade next year.

He wasn't on minimum he was nsw cup prop of the year when he signed with Dogs. He was in our top 25.

This just suits others arguments now as he is off our roster that he was only on mimimum, when he is contracted with the Dogs the same people would of said he would of been on 100k+ to take up more cap in peoples mind.

I think if his head is in the right place he will walk into the tigers bench next year and add something to it. He is a promising player, just clearly not to dedicated or smart.

1) He was an untested rookie

2) Being in the top 25 doesn't mean a player isn't on the minimum, why do you think they have a minimum to begin with? So everyone can get paid more than the minimum?

3) I doubt you'd find anyone who was seriously going to claim that Gavet, an untested rookie was on 100K+

And you accuse other people of using figures to suit their argument. Rich.

Promising player who got destroyed by the NSW Cup props just promoted from BRET to the fulltime WT squad

Yeah well outside of Woods your forward pack is pretty average. If the bloke was NSW cup prop of the year once he obviously has some ability.

James Gavet is a good player with a heap of potential but as far as I know from hanging around the same circles in Auckland he's trouble. Not saying you have to be a saint to make it because he still can but he was always fighting and apparently that hasn't changed, not from the nicest neighbourhood on earth either.

This is one of my favourite things to read from fans.

When a player is at their club. "oh he signed for nothing cos he loves the club." or "he's average and on nothing, so we can definitely afford x, y and z"

When that same player is leaving. "we can definitely afford x, y and x... he was NSW cup prop of the year and was on at least 300k" hahaha

My favourite is the "player x had a backended contract" until 2 seasons later when he's just on normal wage.

RLW Facebook page is saying winterstein has re-signed until the end of 2016 with the cowboys while Mose Masoe has been released from the roosters to join the dragons

How on earth do the Roosters let an absolute gun in the making leave. Masoe is a future star and they've just released him.

All this just to rent SBW. A very bad move by the club in the long term.

Roosters have a number of props coming through who are all better or better prospects than Masoe.

It's a good pick up for Penrith, gives them more depth in the prop position which begins to look a little shady when either Grant or McKendry go down, which was too common last year.

What happened to Penriths cap problems of a few weeks where a few players were being asked to take a cut???????
