Old friend messaged me out of the blue, she wants to catch-up. Uh-Oh.

Have had a couple of those in my time. A couple of girls I went to High School with. Like with your they came out of the blue.

When it comes to anything related to my time at High School, anybody I've wanted to stay friends with/stay in touch with I've already done so. Otherwise I've moved on. Hence why I haven't tried to find my old crush. But have heard on the grapevine she married the bloke she got with in high school. So I don't attend reunions.

This is the same case for me Ian. Friends in school, so there was nothing there except friends back 3/4 years ago. I just find it odd, I tried to disconnect from my old high school as much as I can so I pretty much said "Not at the moment" because I honestly don't want to see her.

It's giving her the cold-shoulder and probably a bit rude, but I don't really care.

But what intrigued me is why they decided to contact me out of the blue like that. Especially as I go by a different surname now.

I want to know why mines messaged me out of the blue, done nothing and ain't talked to her. Last time I talked to her at end of high-school it didn't end exactly the best, we were quite good friends before it though.

I guess I won't find out as I said no. Does not help the fact my birthday is a few weeks away and she keeps asking if I'm doing anything.

I think she wants your c**k mate.

She's only human after all.

This isn't so much relationship advice but life advice that I received a long time ago. No always shuts doors, you should always try and be the "yes man".

What harm could come of it? You're already not talking to her as far as I can tell from your posts. If it goes bad you can just resume from where you left off.

I make the habit of never putting my-self first. I put everyone but me first.

Often leads to unhappiness but worth it if it makes people feel better.

And I agree with saying yes. I don't know the situation but well unless things can get worst it can't hurt.

gee, modern young males are such softcocks.

I'm reminded of a skit by David Mitchell and Robert Webb where they were doing a bloke version of Sex In The City.

"So, Alan, who are things wife you and your wife?"
"What? Oh, ah, Alright. I mean, it's a mess, I don't know what to do"
"Probably best to not think about about it"
"Yeah, that's what I have been doing"

Divorce up to the 1960's was such a rare and unheard of thing.

Women's lib saw less marriages

Then Men started trying to be sensitive wankers.

Then Divorce's spiked.

Women want some freedom to live their own lives but they also want a man who will just listen. Not some emotionally fragile softcock.

divorce was rare in the 60s because in the age of Aquarius everyone was f**king everyone else

Marriage up until the 60s was unheard of because of the divorce system, and the change to no fault divorce.

The other versions make good stories though.
