From what I've heard, he's a bit of a beast, most Penrith fans were sad to see him go. Haven't seen him play - any got word on him? What are his strengths/weaknesses?

More importantly, will price actually play him?!

I remember from his Toyota Cup games was he was a pretty good goalkicker. His attack was solid, but Penrith didn't think his defence was up to NRL standard.

he St George Illawarra Dragons have today announced they have signed Harry Siejka for the remainder of the 2013 season.
Siejka, 21, was previously contracted to the New Zealand Warriors but was earlier this month granted a release from the Club due to personal reasons including wanting to be closer to family.
“I’m really excited by the opportunity to play for the Dragons as they’re a Club with a rich and proud history,” said Siejka.
“I’m very thankful to be a part of the Club and look forward to getting stuck into training alongside my new teammates.”
The Bathurst Panthers junior commenced his NRL career with the Penrith Panthers and made his debut during the 2011 season against the North Queensland Cowboys.
The pivot, who can play as five-eighth or halfback, was later named in the inaugural 2012 NSW U20 State of Origin team and scored a try and ten points in the Blues’ win.
The former Australia Schoolboys U15 representative joined the Warriors ahead of this season and spent the majority of his time with the Auckland Vulcans in the NSW Cup prior to his release being granted.
“It does take a toll not being around family and friends and while I enjoyed my time in New Zealand, I also missed home,” said Siejka.
“The team here at the Dragons is a good mix of younger players and established internationals and I look forward to now being a part of that.”
Siejka will commence training with the Dragons through the Illawarra Cutters immediately and is contracted with the Club until at least the end of October.

Fair enough - says he made 25 tackles in his first grade debut for Penrith, so can't be that bad (for a halfback)...2 try assists too!

The timing of the Bye is good, he gets 1 week with the cutters and depending on how he goes he could potentially be thrown straight into 1st grade for the week after.

Lets hope he can goalkick..

Just shits me how we sign a 21 year old and hope he fills our half problem yet we have our own 21 year olds and call them too young, not ready crap!

According to the mole in RLW we were going to get Sam Williams prior to June 30 but his asking price of a $300,000 was to much for us, although they recon he is a done deal for 2014, so looks like we ended up with Harry instead.

Why is everyone bagging the bloke when they haven't even seen him play. He's a top player and this could be a master stroke by old Dousty.

so now we have 2 halves around 21 years old that seem to be fringe first graders.
i hope this doesnt influence our decent young halves like Hastings and gives them the impression that they are better off elsewhere..

it'll be a few weeks in Cutters, I'd say he'll be in their 17 from next week.

We all hope for the best (I am excited dont get me wrong), its just a shocker that Rangi fell through, then Williams was locked up for a month.. then fell through and now its late in season, were in equal last place and we got the only bloke who was actually available... not because the Dragons thought he was an outstanding prospect... we got him because he is the last bloke left...

He is slightly more qualified than Drinkwater, who is yet to get a shot (seems like there is a personality problem there hearing Price talk about him), but Harry is still unproven in 1st grade & has failed at 2 clubs already.... and surely if not DW, then Quinlan or King (or someone else) was worth an experiment 1-2 months ago, before coaching the team into the inevitable oblivion.

Don't agree. If anything it would be better for Hastings. He knows the club is desperately trying to keep him and he doesn't have a established halfback to compete against. Would give him more belief that he can make the top grade.

Harry will probably only be a depth signing anyway for this year to cover for Soward.

TBH, I dont think the club is bending over backwards to give Hastings a free ride to first grade (nor should they)...he needs to know he has to force his way in through hard work and his own skills and form, not have the path cleared for him. It's a lot of work to make the jump from Under 20s and while no doubt Hastings is capable, he needs to work and compete for it. Same with any youngster at any club.

Not sure if that was the point you were making or not, just thought it was worth throwing in there!
